- Insanely impressive breakout season behind an elite offensive line
- 0-60 in a flash. Great accelleration
- Reminds me of how Donovan Edwards used to break away at Michigan. Follows his blocks, explodes upfield, and does an amazing job executing the play.
- Promising contact balance and receiving skills
- Very interested in what college attention Jeremiah receives this offseason

Jeremiah is having a sensational season. No surprise that he had yet another sensational game.
Jeremiah does his job, and he does it well. Most of his big runs are started by excellent play from his O-Line, leaving a giant hole. From there, Jeremiah finds the hole, hits it, and takes it from there.
Jeremiah took Groves’ 2nd offensive play 85 yards for a touchdown- most RBs would have gained around 20 yards because of the blocking, but Jeremiah was able to take it the distance because of his speed. I was also impressed with what he was able to do in the open field. He’s rock-solid at running through arm tackles, and has great vision.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing some tape from Whitley. Fortunately, we have two weeks’ worth of highlights to look at. Today, we’ll take a look at his tape against Oxford.
First highlight, Jeremiah gets a touch on a screen pass. Initially, great vision, exploding up the middle of the field. I also like the decision to take it outside. Though I thought he could have tried to make that last defender miss instead of running out of bounds (unless game context called for the clock to be stopped). Second, a good inside run. Follows his blocks, and gets exactly what he’s supposed to get. Third, a similar run where Jeremiah follows his blocks and gets what he can.
Looking forward to seeing Jeremiah’s season-long highlights in November. I’ll also do my best to catch a Groves game!

The biggest sleeper on this list, Jeremiah was a crucial part of Groves’ 2024 squad but was behind a couple of D1-offered Senior RBs.
Jeremiah is also one of the most versatile backs on this list. Like all of these guys, Jeremiah is capable between the tackles and has the speed + explosiveness to score from anywhere on the field. I feel that Jeremiah can be utilized as a 3-down back, as well as a major open-field threat. I could even see him taking reps at slot.
What makes me really excited is Jeremiah’s return ability. With marginal upgrades to vision and contact balance, Jeremiah could be a Top 5 returnman in Michigan.

For whatever reason, people seem to sleep on Groves both as an overall team and as a talent developer.
Jeremiah is a massive sleeper in this class, and his tape proves it. For one, he’s extremely versatile. Able to line up in the backfield, in the slot, or as a kick returner. When returning kicks, Jeremiah flashes solid speed and vision. I wouldn’t call Jeremiah the most polished kick returner yet, but he has the upside.
Jeremiah’s has some good highlights out of the backfield. The first thing that jumps out at me is his contact balance. Although he’s one of he smaller athletes on the field, he’s still able to consistently run through tackles attempted by much bigger players. Watch the play at 0:49 in his tape. Going against Seaholm (who I consider to be a pretty good tackling team), Jeremiah bounces off of 3 tackles on his way to the endzone. Add that to above-average speed + vision, and we’ve got ourselves a grear running back prospect.
Considering the RB talent that Groves graduated this past year (Two D1 prospects), I imagine Jeremiah will earn a lot more touches this season.

Considering the boatload of talent that Groves is graduating in the Class of 2025, Jeremiah should have a great chance to breakout during his Junior Season.
Jeremiah’s sophomore season wasn’t anything to scoff at. He spent time at RB, WR, and KR. It seems that Jeremiah’s primary position is RB, so I’ll evaluate him a bit there.
A good number of RB highlights from Jeremiah, and a lot of outside zone carries. Generally, Jeremiah had good vision, and he’s flashed some solid open-field moves. Against less-athletic defenders, he can do some work. Though, I really want to see better explosiveness from Jeremiah. I like players that run with patience, but Jeremiah teeters on timid and indecisive. Trust your athleticism + vision and RUN!

Groves has a lot of key players at key positions that they’ll have to replace next season. Jeremiah is a very promising JV player who could step into a big role, filling some big shoes.
But if I know anything about Groves, it’s that they can always reload their skill position players. Another thing I know is that they ALWAYS seem to develop their skill guys. That said, I really like the flashes Jeremiah showed this past season. Similar to Braylon, Jeremiah is a great athlete, fast, explosive, but doesn’t yet have great contact balance or high-level experience. Credit Jeremiah for burning through bad JV defenses- his speed WILL be an immediate asset on Varsity. Though, those Varsity defenses are an entirely different animal. No matter where Jeremiah plays (RB or WR), he’ll need to hone in on the little things.
Those things are usually…
- Route Running (WR)
- Vision (RB)
- Contact balacne
- Open-field elusiveness
Plays like 2:38 make me confident that Jeremiah can step into Varsity and perform well. Can’t wait to see it, and I’m excited to rank Jeremiah in this upcoming update!
