Dominic is a kid I got to see operate multiple times over the summer, so I was eager to see what he’d look like in a varsity setting. He was heavily involved from the jump. Roaming the middle of the field and high pointing the ball for an interception in the endzone on the first possession. From his free safety position he showed his coverage skills and the ability to run the alley and lend a hand to stopping the run. He ended his debut performance with 6 tackles and an interception.
This prospect hopped on my radar a couple months ago. Besides his film, where I first laid eyes on him was at the Eastern Michigan prospect camp where he absolutely balled out and had him a day!
–Versatility on same and opposite sides of ball: Can line up at X and run straight past defenders to catch a fade ball, in the same breath can squeeze a receiver to the sideline to defend a fade ball. Great help in the run game at DB, very reliable tackler who also has good enough agility to break tackles offensively. Swiss army knife, coaches at the next level will have a hard time figuring out where to play him!
-Physicality: Not afraid to make first contact-I watched him get hands on and attach to many receivers while playing catch man, was able to reroute pass catchers with ease, more than willing tackler as last line of defense, good job sinking hips and driving through tackles.
-Good athleticism & great technique: Very fluid in and out of his back pedal, patient in his stance doesn’t turn and run too early or too late, good speed mixed with agility
