He is a dynamic athlete who plays well on both sides of the ball. He plays as a fullback and as an outside linebacker for Cocalico. As a fullback in Cocalico's option offense, Horning shows excellent ability. He has good quickness and burst as he hits the hole. He is also a physical running back who is hard to bring down. Then, as an outside linebacker, he is excellent at reading and reacting to the play and attacking downhill. I love how he flies upfield and makes tackles at a high level. He also shows good ball skills as he can break up passes at a high level. He also played some wide receivers. In week 2 he caught a touchdown pass by running a good route and catching the ball. He also does a good job of hitting offensive players as they feel his tackles. He also made a great play on a fumble recovery when he scooped it up and returned it for a touchdown. You see that with his pass blocking, with his ability to stay in front of defenders trying to get past him.
