Stock Risers from Southern Brawl 7 on 7 U18 - Day 1

There was a ton of talent in attendance at the PrepRedzone Southern Brawl 7 on 7; the seven players below had some of the most notable performances from Day 1.    The #1-ranked running back in the class of 2027 dominated on both sides of the ball on Day 1 of the tournament. Spell displayed exceptional ball skills, making numerous catches downfield, including a 1-handed touchdown catch in the back corner of the end zone. Defensively, he rotated between corner and safety, coming away with multiple interceptions on the day as well.     Boman was a matchup nightmare for defenders throughout the day with his size and speed. He is a QBs best friend being a big target that can run any route on the route tree. He made multiple impressive catches in traffic and picked up chunks of yards after the catch.     Green did not throw a single incompletion in the one game that I got to watch. He threw 3 touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime. There isn't a throw that Green can't make; he can drive the ball to all areas of the field. He has exceptional ball placement, placing the ball perfectly on corner routes 30 yards downfield or throwing the back-shoulder fade in a spot that only his receiver can make a play on.     Harris caught fire in the game I got to watch. He reeled in 7 receptions, 4 of which were for 15 yds or more downfield. Harris is a long wideout that can make a play on the ball if it's anywhere in his vicinity, including a 1 handed grab for a pass thrown behind him and an acrobatic contested catch over two defenders that he had to climb the ladder for. His route running impressed as well, accelerating out of his breaks and running crisp intermediate to deep routes.     Jackson stood out on the defensive side; quarterbacks rarely looked his way due to his coverage. He has great feet that match his hands when pressing a receiver, effectively disrupting the timing of the receiver's route. What really stood out in his play was how fluid his hips are. He can change direction and close on routes in a hurry.     Hogans' ability to create plays down the field was impressive. The rising senior displayed versatility, making difficult contested catches and creating big plays with the ball in his hands. He opened the afternoon games with a tough back shoulder grab down the seam through a tight window. He continued to put vertical pressure on the defense by making multiple catches deep in opponent territory, including a fade and a post for touchdowns.     Vandello impressed at quarterback on Day 1. He is a very polished and rhythmic thrower. His throws are on time off the last step of his drop as he anticipates windows. He can push the ball downfield with accuracy as well. Vandello works through his progression without double-clutching or showing indecisiveness as he works his way to his checkdown.
