Holmdel (3-0) at Red Bank Catholic (4-0)

The youth movement at Red Bank Catholic is ahead of schedule. With youngsters playing major minutes in key roles with fruitful results. The Caseys are 4-0, have only allowed 15 points, shut out 2 opponents, and are likely increasing their expectations daily. They will play host to the Holmdel Hornets, a 3-0 team who has no problem putting up points and looks to claim the mantle as the Shore's team-to-beat. Knocking off the class of the conference would go a long way to doing this.

We have covered him before, but [player_tooltip player_id='760086' first='Jack' last='Cannon'] is truly an incredible quarterback prospect. The one-man wrecking crew and an absolutely true dual-threat quarterback, Cannon has gone 31-45 for 585 yards with 8 passing touchdowns to 3 interceptions; however, he really earns his keep on the ground. While no other Hornet has more than 16 carries or 73 yards, Cannon has rushed 52 times for 534 yards and all of Holmdel's 9 rushing scores. When Cannon does drop back to pass, it seems as though [player_tooltip player_id='1021116' first='Anthony' last='Serini'] is his favorite target. Still just a sophomore, Serini has 10 receptions to lead the team, while scoring 3 times and gaining 163 yards. Additionally, he has 13 tackles (5 solo), and 1 tackle for loss. Another youngster making waves in the Shore conference early on for Holmdel is [player_tooltip player_id='1708363' first='Tyler' last='Carri']. A freshman, Carri is well in the mix with 16 tackles (7 solo), 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception.

Maintaining the theme of youngsters, [player_tooltip player_id='1016186' first='Rahmir' last='Rivera'] is quarterbacking - with unbelievable success mind you - the Caseys as just a freshman. Rivera has gone 48-63 for 712 yards with 8 touchdowns and 1 interception. Selective when he decides to run, Rivera has 10 totes for 58 yards on the ground, good for second on the team. As if starting one freshman on offense was not enough, Red Bank Catholic starts two. [player_tooltip player_id='409942' first='Gabe' last='Kemp'], a tailback, has seized the starting role and, literally, ran away with it. Kemp has a massive hold on the rushing totals, having ran 72 times for 489 yards and 4 scores. Kemp is also a more than serviceable threat out of the backfield, ranking third on the team in all categories with a 6/94/1 slash line when targeted. Two prospects I look to bring the heat on Cannon will be [player_tooltip player_id='1107349' first='Asher' last='Cummins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='909452' first='Lorenzo' last='Tartamella']. Cummins, a sophomore, is the team leader in sacks (4) and forced fumbles (3), while having made 19 stop s(10 solo). Tartamella, a junior, is tied with Cummins for the team lead in tackles for loss (8), has recorded 3 sacks, forced a fumble, and made 24 stops (13 solo).

Shore (2-1) at Red Bank Regional (2-1)

After two consecutive wins to open up the season by a 69-14 margin, Shore Regional was slowed down in a tough game at Manasquan last week, a 36-21 loss. They look to rebound this week against Red Bank Regional. For the Bucs, they have been in nothing but tight games - a 6-point loss and wins by 7- and 9-points.

For the home team, expect them to look to [player_tooltip player_id='1906687' first='Matthew' last='Huss'] to pace the game on the ground. A senior, Huss shows no fuss when rushing as he has amassed 318 yards and all 3 of Red Bank Regional's rushing scores on 63 carries. A two-way playmaker, Rush leads the team with 1 tackles for loss while adding 2 sacks, 8 tackles (5 solo), and 1 forced fumble to his ledger. [player_tooltip player_id='1524375' first='Jah'Mir' last='Lane-Bailey'], a prospect that I recall being impressed with on film, makes his presence felt on both sides of the ball. Lane-Bailey has forced 3 fumbles and recovered 2 - both good for team leads, while having a share of the team lead in sacks (2) and making 8 tackles, with a team-high 7 solo stops. A contributor on offense as well, Lane-Bailey has slashed 4/74/1 thus far.

With very limited information on Shore Regional, [player_tooltip player_id='1906688' first='Logan' last='Clark'] appears to be their quarterback. It is being reported that Clark has gone 19-29 for 259 yards with 2 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Given their total point output of 105 thus far, we must assume these numbers are improved upon.

Pinelands (2-2) at Lacey (2-2)

It seems that Pinelands is back on course. After two losses to open the season, they have rattled off two straight wins, shutting out both opponents and outscoring them 63-0 in the process. In an eerily similar set of circumstances, Lacey, who also dropped their first two games, has bounced back by earning two straight wins with one shutout, outscoring opponents 56-8.

Pinelands has some nice, younger prospects playing in key roles right now. First, their leading rusher is a sophomore named [player_tooltip player_id='1906698' first='RJ' last='Clark']. Clark is building an impressive debut season thus far, going for 304 yards and 4 scores on 48 attempts - all team highs. Adding insult to injury, he has also intercepted 2 passes on defense. When Pinelands drops back to pass, more times than not they look in the direction of [player_tooltip player_id='1906699' first='Dom' last='Colosi']. Colosi leads the team in all receiving categories with a 16/196/1 stat line thus far. On defense, [player_tooltip player_id='1906700' first='Paul' last='Veneri'] has been asked to play a major role very early on. Veneri's 36 tackles is currently 3-off the pace for the team lead, while he also has made 15 solo stops and 1 tackle for a loss. Similarly, [player_tooltip player_id='1906703' first='Montrell' last='Carter']'s 3 tackles for loss is 1-off the team lead , while he has also made 25 tackles (8 solo) in his sophomore campaign.

A quarterback may be taught to hold the ball by its laces, but for Lacey, they want to run the ball and run it some more. Leading the way is [player_tooltip player_id='1906704' first='Joey' last='Davis'], a junior. Davis has rushed 63 times for 523 yards, scoring all 8 of their rushing touchdowns. This should not underscore, however, how Lacey has featured 7 different ball carriers. Defensively, look for [player_tooltip player_id='1906705' first='Logan' last='Gumbazz'] to continue his strong sophomore season. Gumbazz has made 13 tackles so far, including 2 tackles for a loss and a tied-for-the-team-lead 2 sacks. Lastly, [player_tooltip player_id='1906708' first='Jake' last='Sturman'] will be a key piece just 5 tackles from the team lead with his 19, he leads the team in tackles for loss to with 8. Expect him to add to those totals and eventually get a sack as long as he keeps working.

Neptune (3-1) at Asbury Park (2-1)

After getting clipped in a disappointing 35-28 opening day loss to Freehold Township, Neptune has gone on to win 3-straight games by outscoring their opponents 98-14. Meanwhile in Asbury Park, they suffered a stifling defeat at the hands of Ocean Township after shutting out Keansburg 40-0.

Asbury Park's [player_tooltip player_id='212381' first='Amiere' last='Massie'] is off to a massive start to this season, his senior. With just 39 carries, Massie has already scored 8 times and registered 728 yards, for a whopping 18.67 yards per carry. Supporting Massie's efforts are that of [player_tooltip player_id='1906715' first='Kingston' last='Dunkley'], who is second on the team with a 17/182/4 slash line on the ground. Clearly in a run-first offense, Dunkley has caught 5 of his team's 6 total completions for 78 yards and 2 scores - which all lead the team. [player_tooltip player_id='1906716' first='Braylon' last='Johnson'] is a freshman that is making significant contributions. Johnson is amongst the team leaders in tackles (13 total/11 solo) and is tied for the team lead with 2 tackles for loss. Johnson is also good for second on the team with 17 carries and 60 yards. Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1906717' first='Kenny' last='Joseph'] leads the way in the trenches with is 17 tackles (14 solo) and a team-high 3 sacks.

For Neptune, it is the [player_tooltip player_id='1530251' first='Caleb' last='Brown'] show. The team's quarterback, Brown has gone 29-54 for 491 yards with 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Meanwhile, Brown is Neptune's leading rusher as well as he has accumulated 503 yards and 5 scores on 46 attempts. [player_tooltip player_id='1906721' first='Koen' last='Johnson'] headlines the defensive front for Neptune. Johnson has made 18 tackles on the season, which ranks second on the team), but has led the way in tackles for loss with 8, and sacks with 1. [player_tooltip player_id='1906722' first='Hassin' last='McMillon'] figures to be a part of the plans too with his team-high 2 interceptions.
