IOWA CITY, Iowa - Regina Catholic and West Branch renewed one of the state's top rivalries Friday night. The Regals pulled away for a 28-16 victory, winning for the second consecutive time in the series.

My first look at Miller in 2025 was impressive. The junior carried 22 times for 182 yards and touchdown during a 28-16 win against West Branch in Week 2 of the season. The performance included a 63-yard scoring run on the game's first play. Miller got to the edge, and it was over. It highlighted his quickness laterally and speed in the open field. Against a defense designed to slow him down, he continually showed off his well-rounded skill set at the position. Miller exhibits patience in setting up his blocks, keen vision in locating the crease and the burst to get through it. Miller is a willing and able blocker on pass plays, doing a nice job of locating and taking out defenders breaking into the pocket.

Wallace stood out for his non-stop physicality when watching him during Week 2 of the 2025 season. He caught three passes for 36 yards but impacted the game on that side of the ball as a dominant blocker in a rushing attack that racked up 248 yards against rival West Branch. He contributed 2.5 tackles for a defense where the stops were spread out as a result of guys carrying out their assignments. The Bears chose to run away from Wallace, and he stayed home while teammates positioned to make stops did just that. Wallace ranks as one of the state's top players regardless of grade or classification, and he showed why again in this one.

Tracy was knocked out of the game during the first half of this in-person scout in Week 2 of the 2025 season. He returned and helped his team to victory. The senior complete nine of 13 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown against an interception, which came on a ball deflected at the line. He added 40 yards and a score on the ground. The performance pretty well encapsulated what Tracy has in his tool box. He commands the offense, is an accurate passer that puts good zip on the ball and makes plays with his legs. He can gash defenses on designed runs or by keeping plays alive off-schedule before hitting open receivers. Tracy is a strong leader willing to do whatever it takes to win.

Hegelheimer oozes potential when you watch him operating on the field, which I did during Week 2 of the 2025 season. The sophomore carried six times for 32 yards and a touchdown backing up one of the state's top running backs. He also chipped in a pair of tackles, including .5 TFL, and showed up on special teams, including as a kicker and punter. Hegelheimer combines size, athleticism and good football instincts in finding success. He's just scratching the surface of his considerable upside and is, without question, one to watch during the rest of this season and beyond.

Greve always seems to make plays whenever I show up. He stood out last season, again at the Bask2Ballin 7-on-7 tournament in the spring and once more during the Regals' 28-16 victory against rival West Branch in Week 2 of the 2025 season. He picked off two Bear passes, the first one leading to a touchdown a few plays later. Greve also led the team in receptions (4) and receiving yards (51). Quickness, toughness, speed and athleticism all stand out askey parts of Greve's success. He also operates with great tempo. You can tell he's prepared by how locked in he is to what's coming from the opponent.

While I was familiar with a good portion of Regina Catholic's roster heading into its matchup with rival West Branch in Week 2 of the 2025 season, Parizek was a pleasant surprise during that in-person scout. The box score credited the sophomore left offensive tackle with one pancake, but he impacted the game well beyond that. A 63-yard touchdown run on the game's first play went his way, and the Regals spent a lot of time operating to his side of the field. Parizek still has rawness to his game, but the potential is considerable. He's agile and athletic with a frame capable of filling out and adding strength. Parizek is one to watch moving forward.
