When you help produce 48 points while not throwing a single incompletion, it's hard not to earn player of the week honors. Jones was absolutely flawless last Friday in the Rebels home victory over Knox. West. This junior quarterback was dialed in to another level where he put the ball on-point each time he threw it while also providing an offensive threat throughout the game with his legs. Jones has been money so far this season and shown progression with his game. The Rebels signal caller has definitely gotten better to the point that Power Four programs might start taking a longer look at Jones and his upside for the college game.

It was a tough call to make for our “Week Two” offensive player of the week but after a lot of thinking, it became clear to me that Curtis earned this honor after a productive, gritty performance last week. The Eagles quarterback showed why he is top player in the state for the TN2026 class with how he led his team from behind to defeat D2-Class AAA power Ensworth, 42-41. The Tigers had a hard time stopping Curtis as he produced five touchdowns on the night while punching in a two point conversion to win the game. This might have been his best overall performance to date throughout his high school career.

The Falcons are coming off a 50-0 win over Claiborne to push their record to 2-0 with Fleenor being a major factor behind the good start. He had a big time performance versus the Bulldogs last Friday with 17 total tackles, six of them for loss and two sacks on the night. Fleenor was a constant force in the Claiborne backfield, harassing the quarterback while making several plays and big hits against the run. The Falcons junior linebacker is undersized but fearless and tough. He is a tackling machine that produced big numbers last year and it looks like Fleenor is poised to have another big year.

O-line Unit of the Week

Brentwood Academy Eagles (Notable Players - [player_tooltip player_id='1588851' first='Daniel' last='Payne'], [player_tooltip player_id='1700869' first='Xavier' last='Yelder'])

- Facing their cross town rival in Brentwood, the Eagles flexed their muscles in the trenches, especially on the offensive line where they paved the way for a near 200 yard rusher in Larry Sanders III while keeping [player_tooltip player_id='834810' first='Crews' last='Jenkins'] clean and allowing him to throw with ease. The big men up front for Brentwood Academy set the tone early and maintained physicality until the final whistle behind their 45-21 win over the Bruins. The Eagles will face stronger competition, starting this week versus Baylor but playing good football in the offensive line is critical towards the team's overall success this 2025 season and so far, things are looking good in the trenches.

Positional Players of the Week

QB: [player_tooltip player_id='378901' first='Andre' last='Adams'] - Antioch ‘27 (Stats: 11-17 passing for 242 yds & 3 TD's - 16 carr. for 109 yds & 1 TD)

- Adams has been highly productive so far this 2025 season with last week being one of his best yet as he became a key piece behind the Bears 32-27 win over East Nashville. This junior signal was terrific as he tore up the Eagles through the air and on the ground towards producing four touchdowns and 351 total offensive yards on the night.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='1210671' first='David' last='Gabriel-Georges'] - Baylor ‘27 (Stats: 22 carr. for 222 yds & 4 TD's)

- The Red Raiders squeaked by Rabun-Gap (Ga) 35-34 last week and needed every single yard and touchdown Georges produced to win the game. His performance with the ball in his hands was outstanding, where the junior running back displayed a nice combination of power, speed and crisp vision that couldn't be stopped.

- - -

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='800786' first='Tory' last='Beaufort'] - Maryville (Stats: 6 rec. for 204 yds & 2 TD's)

- One of the more athletic playmakers we have in this state is Beaufort and he proved last week against Knox. West how dangerous he can be. Just about every time the ball touched his hands, the Rebels pass catcher either produced a big play or a touchdown. Beaufort ended the game with over 200 yards receiving and showing his ability to be a deep threat on top of his short space skill set.

Ath: [player_tooltip player_id='1103499' first='Drew' last='Ray'] - Lewis Co. (Stats: 24 carr. for 254 yds & 5 TD's - 9 tcks, 3 TFL on Def.)

- The Panthers moved to 2-0 on the season with Ray taking over on both sides of the ball in their 41-20 win over Houston County. This senior backer exploded for a 250 plus yard game and five touchdowns while being a force on defense stopping the run. Ray is a team leader that is critical behind the team's success this year and a prospect that can boost his recruiting stock with continued strong performances.

DL/Edge: [player_tooltip player_id='944767' first='Kamari' last='Blair'] - Kirkwood (Stats: 7 tcks, 4 TFL & 4 sacks)

- The top ranked offensive lineman in the state flexed his muscles on defense last week in the Cobras win over West Creek. Blair was unblockable as he spent most of the night in the Coyotes backfield, producing four sacks on the night while also being a key piece in stopping their run game. His future with Tennessee is on the O-line but his work in the defensive trenches for Kirkwood will be very important this Fall.

LB: [player_tooltip player_id='1373099' first='Matthew' last='Anderson'] - Ravenwood (Stats: 11 tcks, 4 TFL, 1 sack & 1 INT)

- The Raptors defense played a huge role in their 22-21 victory over Lipscomb Academy with Anderson showing out as a force both against the pass and the run. This senior linebacker was everywhere Friday evening, making tackles behind the line of scrimmage while also being a nuisance in pass coverage. His aggressive playing style stands out from this game and something I'm interested to continue seeing throughout the year.

- - -

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='1658485' first='Cordarius' last='Johnson'] - Milan (Stats: 6 tcks, 1 TFL, 1 PD & 1 INT - 66 yds receiving, 1 TD)

- Johnson played a big role last Friday in the Bulldogs close 14-10 win over South Gibson. He did an excellent job locking down his side of the field in coverage but also did nice work against the run. The Bulldogs senior defender produced a key interception and receiving touchdown on the night, which proved to be difference makers in the team's four point win.
