The 12U group was loaded with young but talented offensive playmakers across the board, with many impressing us during both days of the Southern Brawl. We highlighted some in our Day One MVPs article, but there are several more deserving of attention after the event. Here are 17 more offensive top performers who made some nice plays this weekend!

Jett Chovanic was one of the more dynamic weapons in the 12U field all weekend for Legacy Black. He's got real burst off the line and has twitchiness in his movements that makes him tough to square up, especially on underneath concepts where timing and separation matter. Chovanic does a great job settling into soft spots, presenting a clean target, and then turning short completions into chunk plays. Once the ball is in his hands, he flips a switch and is sudden, explosive, and confident in space. He consistently made the first defender miss and showed the kind of short-area quickness that stresses a defense horizontally. In a 7v7 setting where space is everything, he was as dangerous as anyone after the catch.

CJ Hankerson gave CSRA Elite a reliable playmaker who could win in just about any situation. He's sudden off the line with a quick release that immediately puts defenders in recovery mode, and he understands how to lean on corners and manipulate leverage to create space. Out of his breaks, there's real pop, and he snaps routes off with urgency and accelerates back to the football. What stands out is how comfortable he is playing through traffic, as he'll secure the catch with contact closing in and still find a way to finish the play. Whether working underneath, stretching the intermediate windows, or getting vertical, Hankerson showed he can be a true three-level threat and a matchup problem every snap.

MJ Sanu showed that he understood the game well beyond his years. The fourth grader from Legacy Black worked the middle of the field with natural feel, consistently finding open windows and giving his quarterback a clean, dependable target. He shows good burst in and out of his breaks, with the kind of breaking speed that creates separation without wasted movement. There is real explosiveness in his game once he gathers the ball, and he accelerates quickly into space. As the son of former NFL wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, the pedigree is there, but what stands out most is how comfortable and instinctive he already looks operating in traffic and making himself available when the play needs him as a young player.

Tisdell consistently uses his length, extending with his long reach and attacking the football at its highest point rather than waiting for it. His hands are dependable, and he finishes through traffic. Firsching is slippery in space, showing the ability to sidestep traffic and squeeze through tight lanes without losing momentum.
Cam Johnson looks the part physically as a future dynamic weapon in high school. He has an athletic frame with quality size and uses it to his advantage on both sides of the ball for Up Next. At receiver, he is a true big-play threat who can flip the field in a hurry. He elevates with confidence, going up over defenders and finishing at the catch point with strong concentration. Even in traffic, his eyes stay locked in, and he secures the football. Fitzgerald consistently found ways to get open, even as one of the larger athletes on the field, and he showed the ability to extend and catch over defenders when the ball was placed high.
[player_tooltip player_id='2127524' first='Andrew' last='Etheridge'] of team Apex showed a knack for finding openings in tight spaces near the goal line. He worked hard to get himself open and turned those opportunities into points, hauling in two short touchdowns in their second pool play game against Blitz. Etheridge's awareness and timing in short-yardage situations made him a reliable target when it mattered most.

Rylan Bryant of Money Team Athletics used his quickness and twitchy athleticism to create separation all weekend. Though smaller in stature, he ran his routes with a sharp, sudden release and explosive breaks that made him tough to cover. Bryant's speed and agility allow him to make plays in tight windows and turn short passes into big gains.

Brentlee Latimer for CapEx made his presence known deep downfield with his straight-line speed and ability to stretch the defense. He showed the knack for high-pointing the ball, using his leaping ability and solid young frame to bring down jump balls. Latimer's combination of size, athleticism, and timing gives him a chance to be a consistent vertical threat as he develops further in the future.
