We're at the midway point of the season in the blink of an eye, and we'll be highlighting prospects who have produced midseason highlight tapes. Colleges will evaluate prospect film from the midpoint of the season to assess their progress this season, as they update their recruiting boards. Here are some QB prospects to check out with midseason highlight tapes that we didn't cover from the First 3/4 games spotlight series!

The Linsly Cadets are having a tough start to the season against a bear of a schedule, but 2026 QB [player_tooltip player_id='402801' first='Braden' last='Wade'] is doing all that he can to keep his squad competitive. He's put together some strong performances even with their 1-4 start and is still proving why we consider him a Top 2 QB prospect in this class. Wade has showcased the other nuances of the position this season out of necessity on top of his known high-level arm talent. He's utilizing his legs more in his pocket presence and escaping pressure while also proving he can throw accurately on the run and does a nice job of keeping his eyes downfield.

2026 George Washington QB [player_tooltip player_id='926292' first='Cy' last='Persinger'] is coming off possibly his best performance of the season in a big win over a very good Barnesville (OH) program. He's helped the Patriots to a 5-0 start, one of their best in recent years. Persinger is managing the offense well, both with his arm and with his legs when needed. He's a high upside quarterback prospect who's still developing and has the frame and arm strength to become a future college starter at the D2 level.

[player_tooltip player_id='894669' first='Eian' last='Duffy'] has done a nice job stepping in for the now graduated and record-setting QB Josh Moody this season for the Wildcats, and has produced some big numbers in his own right at the midway point. He's thrown for just under 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first extended varsity experience of his career. Duffy executes their spread offense well with a bevy of athletes surrounding him. He's doing a great job of spreading the ball around to a host of talented receivers, with three having over 20 catches so far this season. If D2 programs overlook potential size questions, Duffy could earn some opportunities at that level and would be a steal for a D3 or NAIA school.

2027 Wheeling Central QB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1157631' first='Nico' last='Kusic'] is showcasing his athletic versatility as a junior in his first year going into the season as the starter. He's thrown for over 500 yards and 8 touchdowns through five games and is averaging over 30 yards a game with his legs. The Knights' passing game will continue to open up as the season goes on in their spin series offense, but Kusic is doing a great job of managing their misdirection offense with a 4-1 record. They haven't needed him as much on defense yet this season, but Kusic proved last season that he can play safety at a high level when they aren't keeping him fresh on offense.

The Wheeling Park Patriots have expectedly relied heavily on their rushing attack behind returning 2024 Curt Warner Award winner [player_tooltip player_id='1137687' first='Brennan' last='Wack'], but 2027 QB [player_tooltip player_id='658279' first='Jay' last='Bordas'] has kept defenses honest when needed through the first five games. He and the Patriots' passing game found success against a good St. Clairsville (OH) team last week and were able to open up the passing game more. They found some things that they can continue to do moving forward in that phase of the offense last week, which should translate to more success for Bordas in the second half of the season as they work to find balance.

One of the top quarterbacks in Class A, 2027 Tug Valley QB [player_tooltip player_id='1154693' first='Preston' last='May'], continues to prove why he is in his junior season. He's thrown for 850 yards and 10 touchdowns in four games for the Panthers against a tough schedule to date. May has been the starter since his freshman year, and you can see his experience level when watching his tape. Being able to run a spread offense at the small school level is rare, and having a quarterback like May makes it possible.

Another small school quarterback who is doing a great job this season is 2027 Sherman QB [player_tooltip player_id='1272608' first='Eli' last='Pauley']. He's another quarterback who allows their offense to run a spread attack with his skill set and has thrown for over 800 yards a 6 touchdowns through the first four games. Pauley does a nice job of utilizing his legs to move in and out of the pocket as a passer and has scambling ability as well. He throws a very catchable ball and gives his receivers opportunities to consistently make a play. Pauley is also leading the Tide in interceptions on defense with 4, which speaks to his athletic ability and versatility as well.
