Mid Week Scouting Report

All week I have been checking in on other games that went on around the state and doing some extra scouting. I really liked a couple reps where he read the play and absolutely flew to the ball. Another thing I noticed was his ability to recognize the pass early and cover his zone. I was really impressed with what I saw out of Tailor. His ability to fire off and put a move on and get into the backfield consistently is on par with some of the best EDGE guys we have in the state. He's big, physical and extremely productive already for his class. Against Dakota, he had a couple of really nice tackles, displaying his high motor and ability to get his 2nd and 3rd move to work when it seems like he is stopped. He also got some reps at TE and was good there, making a couple of good blocks and making a nice first down grab in the middle of the defense. He does a lot of things right. He covers the ball as he plunges into the teeth of the defense, he makes one cut and makes sure he is patient behind his blockers. Once he gets into the open field, he has the acceleration to get out of there and break out for some major yardage, out running some tackling angles in the process. Defensively he was productive as well, even coming away with a huge PBU right in front of the goal line to prevent a TD. Against a tough Marine City defense, Roose was patient, took what the defense gave him, and was unable to uncork it a couple of times deep down the field. I can't overstate how patient he was and how good his overall pocket presence was. He was able to do some damage on the ground as well, reading the defense and pulling the ball for himself on some designed runs. There, he followed his blocks well and consistently fought for some extra yardage. Really good week 1 by Nolan, for a team I am really high on this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
