August Recap: Wide Receivers

Let's take a look at some receivers that caught the eye in the month of August.    Jaron is an elite receiver and has all the tools you want to see in a multi-year Power Four starter. He's started the season on fire. His release package, footwork, and route running have been spectacular. He is great with the ball in his hands and creating after the catch. His vision and overall speed allow him to excel at all levels. He's a receiver that can't be stopped in single coverage and will need safety help, which then draws single coverage on the other side and allows his teammates to excel. Jaron is an exceptional athlete and an elite talent.     Legend hasn't seen the volume, but that's not because of him. He is excellent off the line and displays great footwork. He has great hip sink and is a twitchy mover and a tough cover. Legend has elite speed, and he's gotten routinely open during the season, and it's only a matter of time before he gets peppered with targets.     Kennan is an exceptional athlete and phenomenal on both sides of the ball. As a receiver, he showcases an excellent release with great footwork and is a nuanced route runner. He naturally creates separation and will work the middle and is strong at the catch point. He is a threat at all three levels and does a good job of working his way back to his signal caller if the play breaks down. Kennan is an elite prospect.     Livingston has great speed and is a receiver who excels at creating separation and being strong at the catch point. He's been ultra productive throughout his career at Ridgeline, and even with defenses knowing that ball is going to him, still finds ways to elude his cornerback and get open for the earned target. He is good off the line, understands stacking and tempo. He's a receiver who brings a lot of versatility; he can win at all three levels and will create on his own after the catch.     Higginson is an exceptional two-way player, and his frame will allow him to get to 200 lbs. He has a good release package, and his physical style of play, with his speed, makes his cornerbacks have to play honestly. They can't just jam him or consistently play off coverage. Bigger corners have to worry about his speed, and smaller corners have to deal with his physical play. Higginson shows good footwork, has the hip sink needed to win with second moves, and is exceptionally strong at the catch point. As a deep safety, he displays great range and closing speed. He tracks the ball well and is a ball hawk in the backfield. His physical style of play comes through. He is an exceptional athlete and will be a Power-Four starter.     Cash has done an exceptional job to start the season. He is excellent off the line and is a fluid route runner with good hip fluidity and is strong at the catch point. He can win at all three levels and is routinely getting open. He isn't getting peppered with targets, but he is beating his cornerback and if they throw it up, he'll come down with it.     Dennis has been splitting time at QB and WR this year, but what he's shown is his elite lateral quickness. He's had to escape from the pocket several times this year due to plays breaking down, and he's been able to elude and evade rushers and displaying that short-area burst and vision. That translates over when he's lined up out wide, as he's always shown good footwork and route running chops, mixed in with a good hip sink, but now you add that dynamic lateral burst, it makes him deadly after the catch and at second moves. He's looked excellent out wide this year when he's getting those reps. He'll be an elite recruit and a multi-year Power-Four starter as a Wide Receiver. Elite talent.     We caught wind of him early on in the offseason, and his athletic traits. Which is why he landed as the WR11 and the 82nd-ranked prospect for the 2027 class before taking a single snap on the football field. He's a springy and twitchy athlete who makes the position easy, see ball, get ball. He wins at all three levels and, as a deep threat, is deadly. He'll only get better with every game.     Dunroe was a player who popped on the field this offseason during 7's events, and that's transferred into games. He is a big-time performer who is strong at the catch point, does a good job of getting vertical and is good with the ball in his hands. He's done well to start the season, but when they hit region play, all systems will be on go. He's an exciting prospect.     Jaxton is a twitchy athlete who does well in open space and in short to intermediate routes. He's excellent with the ball in his hand and creating on his own. He's a big play waiting to happen and someone that you scheme up to get the ball and watch him work. He's an exciting prospect for the 2027 class.     Logan has been a consistent performer and the main weapon on offense for Copper Hills. Even with opposing teams knowing that, he still finds ways to make plays and get open. He does well at all three levels and is a player who is primed for a big rest of the season.     Coombs has done a good job this year at being a go-to receiver. With the room opening up, he took full advantage of it. He's a player who can win at all three levels and shows good hands, and a player with a nose for the endzone.     Fullmer has been excellent this year and is continuing his hot streak from a year ago. He is a twitchy receiver who does a good job of getting open and has good hands and high points the ball. He's a player who can win at all three levels, and he's someone who will make the most out of region play.     Rhodes is an athletic, springy receiver who shows good speed and does a good job of high-pointing the ball. He is best used as an intermediate to deep route specialist, as he does well getting vertical and uses his speed to get open. He's an exciting receiver and brings a dynamic perspective to the Stansbury receiving room. The room has a lot of smaller, slot options and with his length, it allows him to be the X and the primary target in the red zone.    Those were some receivers that caught the eye during the month.
