Thursday Thumpers: Four Linebackers Who Packed a Week 1 Punch

These prospects are strong linebackers out of a state rich in history for the position. All of them are good prospects who don't have the recruiting attention or offers to show for it. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound linebacker flew to the football, showing effectiveness as a blitzer through gaps and taking great angles to ballcarriers. He racked up 149 total tackles last year and after a 22-tackle season opener, he already looks primed for an even bigger season. The All-conference selection can be a one-man wrecking ball who delivers heavy hits. At 6-foot-2, 212, he has good size for the position and knows how to deliver big-time hits. Quick to wrap up, he is a very instinctive outside linebacker with a nose for the ball.
