PRZPA Team Previews, Archbishop Carroll Patriots

<p class="text-gray-700">5'10, 155 pounds. Former PRZ camp attendee. Entering his final year at Archbishop Carroll with a starting gig in mind. Last evaluated post-PRZ 7v7 this past Spring, Sponburgh looked great working with PhillysFinest7v7. </p>   <p>Was used sparingly as a junior. The previous starter at Carroll has moved on to Northeast, so I'd imagine Sponburgh is next in line to handle the offensive huddle. Sponburgh doesn't have substantial tape to evaluate, which is why he is currently unranked on our site, despite solid PRZ event performances. I'll be watching AB Carroll and Sponburgh with no preconceived biases this coming Fall. Formerly at Cardinal O'Hara, Johnson is 6'1, 190-pound athlete who is working hard to earn playing time this coming Fall. </p>   <p>Johnson spent time at TE and OLB as a freshman at Cardinal O'Hara. His season tape on Hudl shows a ton of promise, despite its lack of throws to evaluate. From what I can tell, Johnson is training to move forward as a QB at Carroll. Whether or not that happens is unclear to me, yet I imagine coaches at AB Carroll will still utilize a talent like this even if playing time at QB is limited early on. There is an athlete to be molded here, excited to see what his production looks like this coming Fall.</p>   <p>https://x.com/Leem6k_/status/1944075529834914180 </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Archbishop Carroll's backfield churned up nearly 1,300 yards of offense between Montgomery, Boyd, and Barnes. All three of which are no longer on the team, it's likely Guillory will step into an extended role as a sophomore with limited carries under his belt. </p>   <p>Guillory stands at 5'10, 160 pounds. Is currently unranked due to a lack of tape. I'll keep him on the WL to see if production increases. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">A complete oversight not having Tyron Mattison on our rankings. I am aware of his production on both sides of the ball as an incoming junior, I saw him perform well first-hand at our Spring 7v7, too. He would stand to rank as a top 150 2027 prospect, I'll get this corrected on our end. </p>   <p>5'10, 160 pounds. Caught a third of passes that were completed by [player_tooltip player_id='913890' first='Jay' last='Boyd'] last Fall, safe to say the air attack went through Mattison and Matt McGaughey. With many of the ball carriers no longer at Carroll, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mattison take some reps at back this Fall. He's got the build and burst to make a transition to back a natural one. That being said, Mattison already holds a serious role on defense. Upping his plate would do wonders for his stock in the recruiting world, we'll see what happens. </p>   <p>Mattison's first rep on tape shows him split out as a flanker, working on an island with a DB. Mattison wins via inside-out move off the snap, proving he's a tough match-up to bottle up in man coverage. Has RB-like burners, Mattison proves wiggle and athleticism, yet he also shows he can flat-out run past flat-footed defenders to serve as a serious deep threat. A natural offensive weapon that will demand game-planning attention if opposing defenses want to stay in football games. So long as Mattison proves his speed, so long as D1 coaches approve of his measurables, I have no problem calling Mattison a Division One level player, his offensive reps alone make me feel more than comfortable providing that level of grade. Mattison is worth traveling to see on Friday/Saturdays. An unranked senior prospect with tape to his name. I'll see to it that he gets represented accordingly. 3.0 GPA. </p>   <p>Likely a two-way starter as a senior, likely deployed again at safety and wideout. Production is minimal at the wideout position, yet I wouldn't fault him for that necessarily. Carries a lanky build, one that can open stride and stretch the field as a perimeter option for Sponburgh/Johnson. He and Mattison look to be a serviceable pass-catching duo. Walters does a good job cleaning up plays in support of the run from his safety spot, too. His limb length and stride make his alignment in the secondary make total sense. Currently an unranked senior. Likely another pass-catcher who is going to have to fill voids left behind by McGaughey, Watson, and Barnes. </p>   <p>Taking a look at Davin's junior tape, his ability to work with Boyd in scramble situations after plays broke down stands out immediately. Most of Davin's production/catches come after Boyd turned down his initial reads. With Davin's role likely elevating in some way, I expect him to be a bit more involved in planned sets. Intrigued by his size, multi-sport ability, and early production. </p>   <p>6'2, 205 pounds. Ranked well, eight spots outside the top 100. Plays basketball for Carroll (Wing). Self-reports a 3.94 GPA. Registered 20 tackles, 3 TFLs, and a sack as a freshman at AB Carroll, yet no tape to show/prove anything quite yet. Richardson is relatively unknown at the moment. I expect him to be the type of athlete who moves well enough to garner a high TE ranking, yet I'm guessing at the moment. Liked some of his off-season clips posted on X. Is a powerlifter. Self-reports a great 4.63 GPA. Currently on our WL. </p>   <p>Sullivan has several punt/PAT snaps on tape, good ones at that. If Carroll coaches relied on Sullivan to snap on varsity as a freshman, I can only imagine he'll see the same role as a sophomore. Love the work the kid has been putting forth this off-season, too. A sophomore who is ranked one spot away from being named a Top 10 2028 PA DL. Ran a 11.49 100M at his size and age. </p>   <p>Williams' production will have to rise dramatically to hold this type of ranking. I think the young man could blossom into a serious next-level prospect, so long as he continues to take track, the weight room, and his role on defense seriously at Carroll. Current build suggests he could dabble with several different alignments on both sides of the ball, yet freshman tape has him exclusively at EDGE/OLB. Can work with his hand on and off the dirt. Has a ways to go from a technical perspective, but I'm breaking down freshman tape, it's to be expected. Takes great angles to the football post-shed. Great closing speed once he smells blood. Williams will have to continue to work on early-rep technique. I've seen worse freshman tape out of PCL EDGE prospects who end up turning into D1 recruits. Unsure if that still holds. Sample self-reports a 3.4 GPA. A Carroll trench player who dabbles with both the DL and LB positions. Currently ranked well, sitting inside the PRZ PA 2027 Top 250. High praise for the junior. </p>   <p>Speed of the edge is his calling card. KAS is relatively small in stature, so speed and lateral quickness are the headaches he provides opposing tackles. An energy provider, too, plays with some flair off the edge. Has a forced fumble recorded and visible on tape. Solid production to his name, his tape is littered with TFLs thanks to his R&R skills after shedding. Ranked well, just like [player_tooltip player_id='1369598' first='Sean' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1701374' first='Ceasar' last='Richardson']. 6'2, 180 pounds. Likely a two-way contributor, yet I'd say he'll likely be sloted to see substantial reps in the secondary. </p>   <p>Caswell Jr. currently has no tape up on Hudl, yet I'm willing to call my shot here based on what I've learned about him and his 2028 counterparts this off-season. In similar fashion to Richardson and Williams, Caswell is going to have to produce at a high level to maintain his current ranking. Plays several positions for AB Carroll Baseball. Is currently ranked as a low-end D2 prospect, this as he enters his junior year. Obviously his current ranking is subject to change. </p>   <p>Tancredi posted a four-minute-long sophomore tape on Hudl, one that showcases his prowess at safety. A DB with a linebackers mentality, love the authority Tancredi plays with when coming down to support the run from a two-high look. Does a great job being at the right place at the right time, he has a clear understanding of his assignment and how to work based on the offensive play call. A pound-for-pound tackler who held a fair share of splash plays to just 7-10 yard gains. Comfortable in single-high sets. Want to see more pass cover reps to rank him any higher than he currently sits.
