The Raptors return an outstanding duo at quarterback in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402540' first='Femi' last='Babalola'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402559' first='Maverick' last='Chance'] </strong>along with a deep receiving corps, led by their tight ends. Ravenwood should be strong on defense as well, especially within the front seven. New transfer addition <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='824735' first='Danny' last='Brown'] </strong>should be an impact player for the Raptors, who has a chance to lead the Mid-TN area in sacks. Looking at the Raptors and the rest of the competition in this region, Ravenwood is the clear favorite by a wide margin but it should be fun watching everybody else fight for second place.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While it could be a down year by Brentwood standards, I still think the Bruins have enough talent to finish second and be a formidable opponent week in and week out. This won't be the most overly talented Brentwood team but players like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1597026' first='Jackson' last='Allen']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='903953' first='Jones' last='Merrill']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1595026' first='Parker' last='Emerson'] </strong>and others should be standout performers. The Bruins also have a few good pieces in the line like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1286232' first='Kyle' last='Nabrotzky'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1675265' first='Zane' last='Carlson'] </strong>that should be difference makers up front. It will be a tough battle to take second place because Independence should be right there with Brentwood. I almost picked the Eagles for second but need to see more from their defense throughout the season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What Independence could have is an explosive offense that leans on their passing attack with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1150069' first='Matthew' last='Horner'] </strong>at the helm. He has the potential to breakout big time this year but he will need help and Horner should have it in two-way talent <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402544' first='Hunter' last='Mullen']</strong>, senior wideout <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1329018' first='Hendrix' last='Harvey'] </strong>and rising junior stud <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1663276' first='George' last='Mabury']</strong>. The O-line looks the best it's been in years with seniors <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='425163' first='Syler' last='Green'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402527' first='Caden' last='Liebler'] </strong>leading the way up front. If the Eagles defense can show improvement, Independence could be a sleeper team to watch in the playoffs.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Battling for that fourth playoff spot should be interesting as I can see Franklin, Shelbyville or Coffee Co. taking that final selection. I like the makeup of the Admirals team but they are missing a few key pieces that would push them higher up the region charts. Franklin is an overall young team that will be leaning on new starters but they do return one of the best players in this region with two-way talent <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1476160' first='Luke' last='Thompson']</strong>. The Admirals have a chance to be rock solid on defense, especially if guys like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1752333' first='Jamarion' last='Lee']</strong>, <strong>Teighan Lee </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1704955' first='Santino' last='Bruni'] </strong>take steps forward with their games.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another top offensive prospect in this region is Shelbyville senior running back <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='834613' first='Robert' last='Bailey']</strong>. Coming off a 2,000 yard season, Bailey can produce another big year but will only do so if the Golden Eagles offensive line comes together. Shelbyville does have some talent but are lacking in a few position groups right now that need further development. If Coffee Co. was in another region, they might be considered a playoff team. The Red Raiders have a solid squad returning for the 2025 season, especially on defense where they should be strong versus the run.
