Early Season Report: Scrimmage Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was out at a handful of scrimmages all last week, getting to see a ton of team and players as we get ready for the season. He had some strong tackles, one for a TFL and even had a pick six. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">He is quick to react off the snap, identify and close on ball. On his TFL he shot the gap and showed smooth lateral movement to strafe, breakdown and tackle through the ball carrier. His interception he was in good position in coverage after a tip ball came his when. He went up attacked the ball in the air and immediately took it to the house. Chase is an ILB with good speed whether it's coming downhill in run support or playing out in space/coverage. He had 2 jump ball fade/corner end zone catches for TDs. On both catches Carlos was able to track the ball, get himself in position to then leap over the defender and secure the grab getting his toes down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p> His hands continue to show improvement and he is developing into a strong pass catcher. Carlos consistently uses his length well to catch away from his body &amp; defender as shown during the scrimmage. Carlos is able to use his long smooth stride to push vertical, create separation, and get good YAC. Carlos currently holds a handful of Power 4 offers. I see him having a big junior year both in yards and TDs &amp; seeing his recruitment continue to rise and offers pour in.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:html --> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Feels great to be back in action with the guys! I will say he is primed for a big year based on my early evals for him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">A tweener size wise but is a capable of playing any where along the DL. He can line up inside and win with burst and active hands. Or can come from the edge and win speed / bend. Blake shows the ability to stunt and rush from multiple angles. Has a wide array of pass rush moves. He shows quick hands, able to slap away the OL's punch, can get skinny, hit and out &amp; in move, and stay low for a dip &amp; rip move. Blake plays with a high motor, a last frame kid. A strong tackler as well he can chase ball carriers down. Blake is a versatile DL player who is a playmaker from that spot. He. will be a prospect that offers different fits for different programs based on scheme and will continue to fill out his frame to get stronger. I can see him making a strong debut in the next 2027 rankings after what I saw from him in the scrimmage vs McNamara. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">He has good ball skills and eyes when reading passes as he showed by making a beautiful diving interception during the scrimmage. He read the QB, quickly reacted, closed on the ball leaping out and securing the INT. Griffin is smooth in his pack pedal and transitions. He stays in phase and shows a high football IQ, reading routes and makes smart breaks on the ball. A good overall athlete who is able to play multiple spots on both sides of the ball. In his recent scrimmage against Boy's Latin he was impactful both at WR and DB. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">His biggest play of the day came when he had a quick comeback reception, broke through some arm tackles and ran past the rest of the defense into the end zone. Showing off his speed, burst and twitch. Jayden has a nice long stride that allows him to eat up grass quickly and beat defenders. He has fluid hips, an make quick breaks/turns which allows him to make plays on either side of the ball. I see him playing at WR or a S growing into an athletic OLB in time as well.
