Following a standout junior campaign, Sparaco committed to Lindenwood University and now turns his focus toward leading Cherry Creek to another championship run. Sparaco's blend of sideline to sideline speed and physicality makes him one of the most versatile defenders in the state. He's equally comfortable dropping into coverage as he is stepping up to fill running lanes. When his number is called, Sparaco closes quickly and can bring the quarterback down. Against Regis Jesuit's talented signal caller, his high motor and relentless pursuit will be crucial in disrupting timing and limiting explosive plays. Expect Sparaco to set the defensive tone early and continue elevating his stock throughout the season.

Barnes enters Week 1 looking to turn limited freshman experience into a bigger role this fall. Appearing in seven games last season, Barnes showed flashes of physicality and instinct, shedding blocks to make stops near the line of scrimmage. His ability to bring fresh energy off the bench gives Cherry Creek valuable depth at the second level. Barnes plays with urgency, often closing quickly on ball carriers and chasing plays down from behind. Against Regis Jesuit, he'll have opportunities to showcase his motor and prove he can handle extended snaps. A strong start could put him firmly in the conversation as one of Cherry Creek's next up and coming players.

Irving brings versatility to the Bruins' defense, with the skill set to cover in the slot or drop into the box to stuff the run. His quick feet and smooth transitions in coverage allow him to mirror receivers and break on the football. Irving's physicality makes him great against the run, where he can diagnose plays and close gaps quickly. In nickel packages, his ability to handle both coverage and flying up to fill gaps adds flexibility to Cherry Creek's defensive schemes. Week 1 offers Irving the opportunity to make his presence felt early and cement himself as one of the program's emerging impact players.

Goldberg enters the season ready to take on a larger role in this secondary. His vision and anticipation allow him to read quarterbacks eyes, while his quick feet enable him to close downhill and contest throws. Goldberg's willingness to get a hand in passing lanes and his ability to limit separation make him a reliable cover option. Against Regis Jesuit's talented receiving corps, he'll focus on preventing deep completions and forcing throws into tight windows. If he can add takeaways to his resume this year, Goldberg could quickly attract D1 attention of scouts looking for a disciplined, ball hawking corner.

Matthews is a well rounded defender capable of impacting multiple phases of the game. On the edge, he sets the perimeter against the run, shedding blocks and forcing plays back inside. His coverage skills allow him to drop into his zone, breaking on underneath routes or getting depth to contest passes over the middle. Matthews plays with controlled aggression, enabling him to transition from coverage responsibilities to blitzing when his number is called. In Week 1, his ability to stuff the run early could free this pass rush to attack in obvious passing situations. Matthews' versatility should make him an x-factor from the opening whistle.
