A giant QB prospect who will hold the reins of the Mustangs' offense for the first time this season, Wheeler has been in the lab for years, gearing up for a massive senior campaign. He's been a mainstay at camps, offseason workouts, and combines, all culminating with this season. The kid can sling it, too. He's got a big arm and surprising mobility for a true 6'5" athlete. He can throw on the run reliably and has high-level ball placement across the field. I'm ready for a big senior season from Wheeler.

A high-level returning QB from 6A newcomer Andover, Mapson holds two well-deserved NSIC offers from Mankato State and Concordia St. Paul, as well as an MIAC and WIAC offer from St. Olaf and Eau Claire. If you watch his tape, you'll understand why. Mapson is an electric dual-threat QB who had over 1,500 yards and 22 TDs, nearly evenly split between passing and rushing. He has plays on his tape where he can showcase a throw of a 40-yard dime off his back foot while getting hit. He's a playmaker who takes care of the ball and is due for a big 2025. I see more offers in the future for the 2026 senior captain.

It's a bit of a toss-up for who will take the coveted QB1 job for the Anoka Tornados, but the likely winner of that role is talented junior prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1120517' first='Blake' last='Sieben']. His sophomore tape is very exciting. His arm talent is legit, and his pocket presence was high-level, especially for a JV QB last season. He's got a lightning-quick release, doesn't falter under pressure, and can deliver dimes while evading defenders outside of the pocket. Sieben's ball placement, particularly on deep balls, is fantastic, and I think he could do great things at the helm of the Tornados' offense.

The likely candidate for the head of the Tigers' offense ahead of next season is 2026 two-sport athlete (Football/Baseball) [player_tooltip player_id='1255911' first='Cade' last='Boyles']. A 612QBs Academy prospect, Boyles put forth some good stuff on his junior tape. He's got the ability to make incredible plays. Boyles has an underrated arm and can push the ball deep with the best kids in the state. His ball placement on fade balls is high-level, even when rolling out of the pocket or under pressure. Rarely does he underthrow balls, and he manages to find the soft spot in the defense more often than not.

One of the most electric 2028 prospects in the entire Midwest, [player_tooltip player_id='1651164' first='Tre' last='Moore'] had a breakout freshman season last fall as the Hopkins Royals QB, where he played a key role in the team's first wins as a team in years. The kid is a natural playmaker. He's got an arm that is ages more evolved than a standard freshman QB, and sees the field a lot better, too. He's got great pocket presence, with the ability to scramble and make big plays, especially on the run. He's got the talent to throw off platform, across the body, all the throws that are very difficult to make, and he can complete them with a great degree of success.

One of the more underappreciated QBs in 6A, Bakkum is the returning signal caller for what should be one of the best teams in the state. Bakkum is a prototypical "pro-style" QB who thrives making play-action passes. He makes the right reads consistently and has great ball placement on routes across the field. His back-shoulder fade ball is fantastic, and he can rip short balls into tight windows while under pressure. He doesn't falter with a defender in his face either. I'm excited to see what Bakkum can do during his senior season.

The returning QB1 for the Eastview Lightning, Quinn Curry, has been gearing up for a big senior year after a busy offseason on the camp circuit. There's a lot to like from Curry's junior tape. He makes the right read on zone plays and rides his fakes for a long time. He can hit short and tight windows, and his ball placement on end zone back shoulder fades is very impressive. Curry could be a great pickup for MIAC/WIAC schools this year.
