I have a soft spot for centers, especially the type of prospect like [player_tooltip player_id='1264390' first='Mason' last='Kamil'], who is strong enough to wrangle and win up top alone. I appreciate the subtle nuance of how Kamil snap and steps simultaneously. This gives him an advantage to protect his gap, as he is blessed with quick feet that allow him to move laterally extremely well. When running zone concepts, Kamil is very good at bumping to school assignments when double teams, as well as receiving the bump to get to the second level. He also does a nice job of sealing angles well by using his head as a proxy to do so. In pass protection he keeps his head on a swivel as he looks to help and any late stunters.

It is fitting that a team nicknamed the Rams have a solid pipeline of line prospects. [player_tooltip player_id='1101263' first='Max' last='Hoerter'] is a left tackle for Ramsey and manages to get a great deal of movement with his adjacent guard on double teams. With a "this is what we are doing, now stop it" mentality, Hoerter communicates at the line pre snap to ensure that the protection is cleaned up. Lastly, Hoerter does a good job maintaining his base and gets good movement at the line.

St. Joseph's Regional has their Man of Steel in lineman [player_tooltip player_id='212402' first='Steele' last='Haubner']. Haubner is a violent run blocker, even displacing defenders who spike a knee when doubled. Speaking of doubles, Haubner does a great job of galloping and sends his assignment down an entire gap at times. He is excellent on double teams and is a very good drive/on blocker, and climbs to the second level exceedingly well, too. In order to get to his trap assignment, we see him rip across the face of defenders to get skinny in order to get to his responsibility and climb to the second level. In pass protection, especially when uncovered, he looks to help and clean things up. Haubner's base is really good and consistent across his film. I would consider Haubner a powerful, throwback prospect at guard - the type you can run behind for the next four seasons.

Film is one of the best tools to self-scout, evaluate, and improve. As is the case with any rankings update, we want to celebrate and highlight select prospects who had some really nice film and talk about their game. That said kill the lights, close the blinds, and turn the projector on and join me, as we prepare to enter the film room to discuss what I saw on film.
