As we get deeper into the month of August, the start of the 2025 high school football season is just a week away! With that in mind, I wanted to highlight the top players in each class in the state of Kentucky with my Preseason All-State Teams. To kick things off, here is my Preseason All-State offense in class 6A.

[player_tooltip player_id='374785' first='Zane' last='Johnson'] has had about as good of a high school career as you could ask for so far, leading Trinity to two state championships in his first two seasons as their starting quarterback. As a sophomore, Johnson threw for over 2,000 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Johnson does a great job of going through his progressions quickly to find the open receiver. He can make any throw he is asked to as he has the arm strength to stretch the field and accuracy to put the ball where only his receiver can catch it. Zane also scored one rushing touchdown last season. Johnson currently holds offers from Miami (OH), Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, and Southern Mississippi, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber quarterback prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='971533' first='Chayce' last='Burton'] is a player who has been high on my radar for a while now. He is coming off another strong season in which he ran for over 900 yards and 15 touchdowns. Burton is a tough ball carrier for defenders to bring down as he has the strength and contact balance to break tackles without losing stride, and also has shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Burton also caught seven passes for 69 yards as a junior. Chayce currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect that list to continue to grow during his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='971534' first='Gerian' last='Traynor'] is another running back who has stayed consistently high on my radar over the past few years. As a junior, Traynor rushed for 633 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games. Traynor has explosive speed which he uses to burst through the running lane with a sense of urgency then break away for long runs. Once he hits the open field, Gerian is very shifty, showing the ability to make quick cuts to make defenders miss with ease. He has also shown the ability to play a role in the passing game, catching 15 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns last season. Traynor is committed to Bethune-Cookman where I can see him making an early impact once he gets there.

[player_tooltip player_id='212336' first='Marlon' last='Harbin'] is one of the most explosive playmakers in the entire state. Last season, he led the Tigers in both rushing and receiving, rushing for over 700 yards and 12 touchdowns while catching 47 passes for 639 yards and six touchdowns. He is able to use his speed to his advantage to either create separation as a receiver or run away from the defense as a ball carrier. Harbin also has impressive athleticism which he uses as a receiver to attack the ball at its highest point to make contested catches look easy. He also made an impact on defense as a junior, leading his team with three interceptions. Harbin is committed to Louisville where I can see him developing into a key playmaker for them on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='894941' first='Ronald' last='Lunz'] is a player who truly caught my attention on the camp circuit this offseason following a strong junior year in which he caught 50 passes for 681 yards and eight touchdowns. Lunz is one of the more skilled route runners that I've seen in the entire state, using his quick release and breaks in his routes to create separation from opposing defensive backs with ease. He also has the speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. Lunz currently holds offers from Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Southern Mississippi, and Miami (OH), and I expect more to come his way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='401704' first='Dylan' last='Lee'] has been one of the more underrated prospects in the entire state over the past couple seasons. As a junior, he caught 46 passes for 608 yards and seven touchdowns. Lee has very impressive speed which he uses to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease in the deep passing game. He is also a very reliable jump ball target, using his athleticism to go up and attack passes at their highest point, along with the strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Lee also made a huge impact on defense last season, finishing the year with 28 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and a team-high six interceptions, returning one of them for a touchdown. Dylan is committed to Colgate where I can see him being a true impact player once he gets there.

[player_tooltip player_id='401700' first='David' last='Pellman'] is one of the top overall players in the entire state. He is truly the complete package at center in both the run and passing game. As a run blocker, he does a great job of running his feet through contact to drive his man down the field with ease and finishes his blocks through the whistle. In pass protection, he does a great job of snapping the ball quickly then picking up stunts/blitzes and continually working to find someone to block. Pellman is committed to Eastern Kentucky where I can see him making an early impact in their offensive line unit.

[player_tooltip player_id='971528' first='George' last='Luckett'] is another talented member of the Manual offensive line who has caught my attention. Luckett lines up at tackle where he is very impressive as a run blocker. He plays with a high motor, showing the ability to keep his legs churning through contact to create movement off the line of scrimmage with ease. George is also reliable in pass protection, using his quick footwork to mirror opposing pass rushers while also fighting with his hands to maintain inside position. Luckett currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Southern Illinois, UT-Martin, and Mount Saint Joseph, and I expect more to come his way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1655653' first='Nate' last='Shields'] is a talented left tackle who has shown the versatility to play inside at guard when asked to. Shields is a dominant force as a run blocker, showing the ability to drive his man several yards down the field and finish with a ton of physicality, often resulting in a pancake block. He is also very reliable in pass protection, showing the ability to keep a strong base while absorbing contact, not allowing for easy penetration into the pocket. Shields currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect that list to continue to grow during his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284258' first='Rahzeon' last='Gillespie'] jumped onto my radar with a strong sophomore season. In pass protection, Gillespie does a great job of maintaining a strong base while taking on contact and fighting with his hands to defeat pass rush moves quickly. Rahzeon currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Southern Mississippi, Grambling State, and UT-Martin, and I expect more to come his way as he continues to develop over the next couple years.

He finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in frequent pancake blocks. Winsley has also shown the ability to get to the second level with a sense of urgency to pick up blocks in the open field.
