10 Players To Know From The Gaston County FCA Jamboree

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Gaston County Fellowship of Christian Athletes held the first of two jamborees at Stuart Cramer High School on Saturday, August 9th. There were a total of 8 teams in attendance: North Gaston, West Mecklenburg, Highland Tech, Harding, Mountain Island, East Gaston, Bessemer City, and Chase. The ball came out quickly and with good velocity when throwing to other receivers in the passing game as well. Shawn showed a nice combination of speed and power with the ball in his hands, with a lot of his runs hitting off-tackle or to the outside, taking advantage of his skillset well. Lavarus showed some good speed off the edge and had 2 would be sacks - the scrimmage was blowing a quick whistle to keep quarterbacks from getting hit and possibly injured. They design a lot of things in the passing game to get him the ball, and if he does get it in his hands, Irvin can do some damage after the catch. Keon showed some nice burst and connected that with some impressive vision on some interior runs that show he is not just someone who runs to the outside with excellent speed. Offensively, Tyrell showed some dynamic ability in the quick screen game, catching the ball and getting upfield immediately with nice speed and agility with the ball in his hands. I liked Desmond's hand placement and footwork in both the running game and passing game. Andre showed his speed and scrambling ability from the QB position, and that was a little bit shutdown with the quick whistle the scrimmage had on quarterbacks.
