It's a new era in Noblesville. New head coach John Hebert takes over the Hamilton County 6A school that has always had potential but struggled to produce results. Noblesville has not finished with a winning record since 2001, when they finished 7-5 under coach Craig Barr.

There is plenty of promise, though, for Hebert to turn the program around: the Millers return a bevy of high-quality prospects who hold college offers. Furthermore, Hebert brings a championship-winning pedigree: at Carmel, he reached Lucas Oil Stadium three times, winning twice (2016, 2019) and losing once (2018).

Here are three reasons why Noblesville could make some noise this season:

They return a very strong offensive line.

A big - both literally and figuratively - returning starter is Class of 2027 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1408932' first='Mason' last='McDermott']. At 6-foot-7, 285-pounds, McDermott possesses an excellent frame and huge upside as a high school recruit. Teaming with McDermott in the trenches are seniors Jackson Apple and Hudson Alexander, who hold offers from Kent State and are over 6-foot-5. Keep an eye on offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1708630' first='Caleb' last='Johnson'], another 6-foot-5+ rising junior with plenty of potential. High school games are won and lost up-front, and size will be no concern for the Millers in Hebert's first year.

They have some playmakers.

Another key returner is tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1315806' first='Calvin' last='Moody']. At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, Moody is a very big receiving target at tight end. He is a very under-the-radar recruit, holding just two offers from Western Illinois and Indiana Wesleyan. Keep an eye on him for a breakout season, and another young prospect mentioned below.

Key returning starters come back on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466346' first='Praise' last='Oladipupo'], the younger brother of incoming Boston College freshman Israel Oladipupo, is a strong and athletic linebacker. He is a very instinctive and strong run defender who takes great angles to the ball. Ty Holmes, who also holds an offer from Kent State, is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound two-way prospect who registered 50 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups on defense. On offense, he had 97 carries for 463 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
