Rising Sophomores on track for College Offers

Today, we're looking at five more newly-ranked Class of 2028 prospects. The Class of 2028, as a whole, has now undergone their first full season and offseason and is on their way to their second full season of High School ball. For most of this class, that means another year of polish before Varsity ball. For a minority, it means Varsity ball right now.   I expect most on this list to not be full-time Varsity starters. Though I expect all of these dudes to be phenomenal on Varsity come 2026.    Another Caledonia QB showing promise.   Conlan sees his name on the rankings after a productive offseason. In his first high school offseason, Conlan was busy. He attended camps at Michigan State, Ferris State, and Western Michigan.   He's got a live arm. Conlan sports a quick throwing motion, and he does a great job using his upper body to increase velocity. Offseason clips indicate better lower-body mechanics, but this aspect still isn't perfect. In terms of accuracy, I haven't seen enough of Conlan to accurately evaluate this aspect, but clips look solid.   Conlan earns a ranking because he's undoubtedly ahead of the curve in this class. I expect him to be a great Varsity starter one day.     I've written about Lou a few times. After watching a couple of times in person, I have a good idea of Lou's current skill.   He's competitive, tall, and has a good arm. He does a good job driving the ball downfield, and he's able to hit receivers in stride 20+ yards out. Still work to be done mechanically, and he needs more on-field reps. Though with Lou's competitiveness, he has an opportunity to skyrocket the rankings and one day be Muskegon's starting Quarterback.     Hickey's a nice player, and I'd be shocked if he wasn't a phenomenal Varsity WR this year or next year. Connor's first highlight shows a sloppy route, but great ball tracking and a nice over-the-shoulder catch. Second, a great 50/50 ball win. Then at 0:43, Connor makes an awesome high-point catch in double coverage.   I'm impressed with Connor's ball skills. He's also earned time returning kicks, and he's sometimes utilized out of the backfield. I'm bullish on Connor, and I expect an even better season this year.     Gavin earns a ranking after a stint on the Watch List.   Right now, I've got him at QB13. A super good ranking considering the massive amount of QBs ranked in the Top 100.   Gavin's got what it takes to one day be a phenomenal Varsity QB. He's as competitive as they come, and he's on par with what I'd call a good future starter. Last I saw Gavin, he was pretty raw. Just based on clips on Twitter, he's made a few noticeable improvements to his mechanics. He's able to push the ball with a little better accuracy and velocity.     Amazing freshman season tape from Lucas. Usually, players going from middle to high school experience significant growing pains, but Lucas took his opportunity in stride.   As an off-ball linebacker, Lucas did an excellent job defending all areas of the field. Against the inside run, Lucas did a great job reading, filling the gap, and hitting hard. Running backs had an extremely hard time earning any extra yards with Lucas in the gap. On top of that, Lucas is relentless outside the hashes. Great reaction to passes toward the boundary, and relentless pursuit to anyone attempting to win the edge.   Lucas may or may not earn Varsity time this year. Regardless, I expect him to be an incredible Varsity linebacker in 2026.
