PRZPA Team Previews: Aliquippa

July is here, and that brings us to team preview season! Throughout the entire month of July and into early August, I will be releasing team previews in both Ohio and Pennsylvania to prepare everyone for the upcoming season and highlight key players to watch. Articles will be published frequently, so be sure to check back to see if your favorite program is featured! In this article, we will highlight the Quips of Aliquippa.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Head Coach: Mike Warfield (74-6)</h3>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Last Season (8-3)</h3>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Key Losses</h3>   RB Tiqwai Hayes (Penn State)   ATH Arison Walker (Saint Francis)   DB Larry Moon III (IMG Academy Transfer)   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Players to Watch</h3>    Qalil can find the football and make plays with it. He operates with versatility defensively. He can be used as a safety or a corner, and has ball hawk abilities at both. Qalil is a great athlete and has good length. As a receiver, his athleticism shines. He can take the top off of a defense or get something thrown to him at the line of scrimmage. I am excited to see what Qalil can put on film this season.     Marques provides a fun watch when breaking down his film. He's a true dual-threat quarterback. He has a good arm that can drive the ball downfield. He throws with anticipation and often hits his targets on time and in rhythm. When in the pocket, Marques looks to throw before running, regardless of the talent he shows as a runner and athlete. His runs come in the designed run game a lot, and on heavy pressure on drop-back passing snaps. He can explode to pick up yards and will even lower his shoulder to pick up yards. Marques has picked up some offers in his offseason, and I think he could be in line for more after this season.     Joseph has great 2024 tape. He's versatile and can work on all three sides of the game. His biggest asset is his explosiveness. When lined up as a pass rusher, he can often time get into the backfield before a tackle lays a hand on him. He has good bend and hits like a truck. Joseph has shown the ability to cover in previous film, and he could even flex out as a nickel/strong safety if he were comfortable to doing. Every football team wants someone like Joseph on their team.     Akiva is a defensive back to watch closely heading into 2025. He can play every position in the secondary, but primarily lines up as a cornerback. He's very instinctual in zone coverage. He has fluid hips and can make plays on balls coming his way. In man, he is handsy and can hold his own for his height and weight. I'm excited to see the growth Akiva shows this season.     Miller lines up at boundary corner and has zero fear. He can line up in press or off coverage. He is a great athlete and can close the gap between himself and his receiver quickly. He has excellent hands in downfield pass coverage. He can read the eyes of his man and can get a hand on the ball. His instincts and academics will drive him well in his college recruitment throughout the season.     Starks is a simple prospect, but such a force on the field to stop. He has quick and heavy hands. His swim move is his bread and butter, and with his play strength and quickness, it works well. He's disciplined and works well within his gap. Starks is a complete player both as a pass rusher and a run stopped, and will be someone to look for as he heads into his senior campaign.     Mylez plays both sides of the line of scrimmage. As a guard, he moves well on pulls and can create gaps through power. He does a great job of getting his hands on guys and driving them to create gaps in the run game. He's disciplined in his gap protection. Defensively, he has heavy hands on the interior and can use his athleticism well to bend through guards and centers. With a bump in size and more game experience, Mylez could grow into being a solid prospect.     Cannon rushes with good contact balance. He doesn't have a height and weight listed anywhere, but he has a great build. He is quick to react when trying to get in a gap to rush through and does a good job at bouncing outside when lanes are plugged. We need more film of Cameron this season, and I expect to see more production from him this season.     Tekoah is an undersized EDGE prospect who can play with power and bend. He gets good drive through his upper half and can finish his rush with powerful legs that can keep churning. Gilbett is a high motor defender who works hard and can make his size not be a disadvantage.     Longmire is a disciplined linebacker. He keeps his eyes in the backfield and can play the run well.
