Marques Council is a great example of a quarterback who does what it takes to help his team get wins. The Yale commit can do everything fairly well as a quarterback. He has excellent footwork and mechanics in the pocket. He can also run either in designed run plays or when the play breaks down. What I like about his film is that he throws with anticipation to the open receiver. His ability to find a receiver and then throw an accurate ball is impressive. Council has one season left to try to leave his mark at Aliquippa, then he is off to the Ivy League to play at Yale.

Marques provides a fun watch when breaking down his film. He’s a true dual-threat quarterback. He has a good arm that can drive the ball downfield. He throws with anticipation and often hits his targets on time and in rhythm. When in the pocket, Marques looks to throw before running, regardless of the talent he shows as a runner and athlete. His runs come in the designed run game a lot, and on heavy pressure on drop-back passing snaps. He can explode to pick up yards and will even lower his shoulder to pick up yards. Marques has picked up some offers in his offseason, and I think he could be in line for more after this season.

6’2, 190 pounds. 4.0 GPA. Identified as an incoming freshman with considerable buzz around his name.
Received an offer out of Robert Morris in the off-season after his sophomore campaign, this a bit surprising considering the timing. Many figured this was a favor offer, yet UPenn also offered Council Jr. earlier this month. The UPenn and RMU offers solidify Council’s status at the FCS-level. I think 2-3 more FCS programs are likely to inquire, possibly in the form of an offer. The Aliquippa man behind center could be a huge steal for a local Division Two program, this something to consider. The highest level doesn’t always equate to the level that’s best for a player. A huge senior year could add opportunities under Council’s belt.

Marques Council Jr is a good athlete who is excellent as a quarterback. He has a good arm and a good ability to throw the ball in the pocket. He has good footwork and mechanics in the pocket. He throws a good deep ball as he puts the perfect amount of touch on the ball. Then, when the play breaks down, he is a good athlete who runs well with the ball. He is a good athlete, and he can constantly scramble for big plays in either designed plays or when the play breaks down. Council is an excellent quarterback who has the potential to improve going forward.

is slated to be in attendance. Talk about a fast rising prospect, Council Jr. is the 10th ranked quarterback in his impressive class. A second team all conference selection the young man is a 6’2 with a rocket arm. He should be fun to watch sling it, particularly during the 1v1 matchups, I will be curious to see how he does. Council has 1 Division 1 offer already from Robert Morris, and a good showing on Sunday should help him increase too more opportunities.

Film Review: Marques Council has a chance to skyrocket up this list. In limited playing time, Council has shown that he has all the tools to play at a high level. He has a good arm and throws a good football. His mechanics are excellent. He also is a good athlete who moves well. I am excited to see his progress next season.
Off-Season Update: Marques Council recently picked up his 1st offer from Robert Morris. He also has been busy with the Aliquippa football team and attending the 7 on-7 circuit. Council has a chance to improve his stock this season.

announced his first Division One scholarship opportunity coming post-Aliquippa showcase. The offer came out of Robert Morris, with Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach Josh Firm speaking to Council after the workout. A great opening into the recruiting world for a young man with an FBS ceiling. We are all waiting for tape, yet Robert Morris can see the writing on the wall, as can we, which is why Council is already ranked as a top 10 2026 QB prospect.
Don’t be surprised when the sophomore passer announces more offers headed his way before September comes around.

Really strong day for Council who was throwing strong, tight spirals throughout the showcase and consistently placing balls very well especially on deep balls. He would pick up his first offer that day from Robert Morris and more should be in line for Council this fall if he can continue to show consistency week in and week out. Overall, a very impressive showing for Council and could be in line for a rankings bump in the next update.
