We're expecting 2027 Hedgesville WR [player_tooltip player_id='1269921' first='Arden' last='Marshall'] to make a name for himself this far after waiting his turn for his varsity opportunity. He's looked good this summer at camps and is ready for a breakout season as a junior on the varsity squad. Marshall has the potential to be a dynamic playmaker out of the slot for the Eagles and has shown that upside this offseason. We saw that upside with our own eyes at a camp earlier this summer, and once Marshall proves it on Friday nights, he has the potential to climb the rankings in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1683406' first='Roscoe' last='Dean'] was a top performer at the Fairmont State Prospect Camp we attended earlier this summer and makes his debut in the 2027 rankings as the #4 running back in the class. His combination of size and athleticism makes him an intriguing prospect and someone who has the potential to make a significant jump in the rankings after seeing his junior film this fall. Dean should appeal to colleges with those physical traits in time as an underrated prospect in this class, who many may not be familiar with yet.

Another 2027 running back who is under the radar and is deserving of more attention is Grafton's [player_tooltip player_id='1326533' first='Cash' last='Nestor']. He's another athletic running back with good size who should grab colleges' attention sooner rather than later. Nestor also has upside as a linebacker with those physical traits, which may end up being his best position as a prospect. He's a physical player on both sides of the ball, and it shows up in his running style as a downhill runner who consistently breaks tackles and falls forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1616354' first='Jamarius' last='Smith'] is a name that we expect to emerge more over the next two seasons after showing flashes for Bluefield as a sophomore. The 2027 WR has playmaking ability out of the slot that he'll show on a larger scale as a junior and senior. Bluefield's offense should open up the passing game more moving forward with the emergence of talented 2028 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1166648' first='Max' last='Simpson'], which we started to see last season, and will benefit athletes like Smith. He's a name to tuck away for later as more game film becomes available, but the potential and upside are evident.

2027 Parkersburg RB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1326524' first='James' last='Lattea'] was a top performer at our Combine Series camp earlier this year and is primed for a breakout season for the Patriots as a junior. We've primarily seen Lattea at linebacker to date, but expect him to be a top option in the backfield this fall with an opening at running back. He's a versatile athlete with raw athleticism to utilize, which should allow Lattea to produce at a high level at running back. Once we get some film of him at that position, he has the potential to climb much higher in the rankings.

2027 Cabell Midland K [player_tooltip player_id='1616160' first='Andrew' last='LaFon'] rounds out our Top 5 for kickers in the class as a high upside athlete for the position. He's a good athlete who can play other positions for the Knights, which bodes well for his future as a kicker prospect. That athleticism will translate well for his development as a specialist, as a fluid athlete who can be mechanically sound as a kicker. Game film from LaFon as a kicker is limited, but you can see his potential in practice videos, and he is capable of moving up the rankings once more game film is available to us.

Wheeling Park's [player_tooltip player_id='1616261' first='Preston' last='Heatherington'] debuts as our #3 TE prospect in the 2027 class after showing a lot of potential on the Patriots' JV team last season. He'll be moving to receiver on varsity as a junior and may slide over to that position in the rankings after we see his film this season. Heatherington has the frame to grow into a true tight end, depending on how his body develops over the next two years, and he showed some good things at that position on JV. His fluidity as an athlete at receiver this fall will be telling for his future as a prospect, and which spot he fits in best.
