How Ben Davis Can Bounce Back

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Following a 13-1 state championship season in 2023, the [player_tooltip player_id='1630653' first='Ben' last='Davis'] Giants took a step back in 2024, finishing with a 5-6 record and losing to Brownsburg in the second round of the sectionals. Head coach Russ Mann's team, though, is back and ready to reach Lucas Oil Stadium once again. They have the talent to do it, too, with several Division I recruits in prime position to have big seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key returners on offense.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Running back [player_tooltip player_id='320276' first='Jazz' last='Coleman'], a strong player in his own right, transferred over from Speedway High School and will be a valuable prospect for the Giants. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound tailback is a bruiser and a great inside runner. The Giants have two very talented yet underrated receivers coming ack: [player_tooltip player_id='1667057' first='Jeivyair' last='Horton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1700645' first='Davion' last='Davis'], the latter of which shined at the Colts 11 On tournament last month. Both have good hands and can make acrobatic catches look easy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key returners on defense.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Giants return a boatload of talent on the defensive side of the ball, led by Kansas commit [player_tooltip player_id='1549692' first='Robert' last='Reddick']. Reddick is a talented cornerback who can make plays on the ball and cover and carry deep routes. His height and length make him a formidable prospect for opposing receivers to go against. A very talented underclassman who contributes on defense and plans to follow in Reddick's footsteps is [player_tooltip player_id='1667351' first='Keontay' last='Toomer'], another tall and long defensive back who is outstanding in coverage and holds a Purdue offer.
