We're nearly finished with our RDU deep dives series and we've reached the back end of the defense. While we typically combine corners and safeties into a "DBs" group for our rankings (Largely because they're often interchangeable at the high school level), I'm going to separate each into its own category.

Hasan is one of the more physically-impressive corners you'll find and it's little surprise he sits atop this list. He has that elite combination of athleticism, technique, and production that you look for in a top corner and there's a reason just about every top team in the country is after him. The weight and strength gains have been impressive and only serve to make him a better player.

A physically-impressive rising junior, Smith had a strong sophomore season and looks like he could make another jump as a junior. He has good speed and coverage skills and isn't afraid to hit either. He plays a lot of zone coverage and he passes off receivers well, rarely getting beaten by route concepts designed to put pressure on the secondary. His physical upside makes him a candidate to move up in the rankings.

Person is going to take on more responsibility as a senior for Enloe after the departure of several others in the secondary. That being said, he led the Eagles in both interceptions (3) and pass deflections (5) last season and has the physical tools to be a lockdown corner. He has excellent hips and can run stride-for-stride with some of the better receivers on the schedule.

Varadaraju plays quarterback and defensive back and the latter is where I think he could make a nice future for himself. He makes quick breaks on the ball to undercut routes and has the versatility to play multiple positions on the back end of the defense. He's a newer name to our board, but a guy I think could have a big impact as a senior.

Probably not the most well-known defensive in the RDU, Cunningham plays both free safety and corner, and I like him best at the latter. He has good hips and footwork, giving him excellent coverage upside. He's best in off-coverage, where he can read the quarterback, but has the athleticism to play press and the I.Q. to play zone as well.
