As we approach the season, realignment is at the top of my mind. For the first time, North Carolina is going to an 8A system, which will further stratify the schools. So, over the next couple of months, I'm going through classifications to highlight the players fans will need to know.

I've already hit QBs and RBs, stories you can find below. Now, I'm looking at the 3A/4A wide receivers. Don't let the size of their schools fool you, these guys can play.

We've written about Copper several times this summer, but I haven't given him a true evaluation in a while. The new NC State commit has the combination of route-running ability and hands that college coaches love, with size and speed that you can't teach. He's steadily climbed our rankings board, and he's in line for another bump in August, thanks to a really strong summer that saw him dominate in camp settings and improve his speed and change-of-direction numbers.

Another wide receiver-running back tweener, I think Leftwich's route-running abilities are good enough that he can stay out wide and thrive there at the next level. He's an explosive athlete who can get in and out of his breaks in a hurry, and that translates after the catch as well, as it takes little time for him to get back to full-speed once the ball is in his hands. A breakout junior season has all eyes on the senior in 2025.

I'm just really hoping Fowler chooses football as his future, as he's also a standout basketball player. It's hard to ignore what he can do as a receiver though, with excellent film and high-level production in his last two seasons. He's a deep ball and jump ball threat and the touchdown production is hard to ignore (13 career TDs on 40 catches). He can improve some on his route-running, but he's so hard to cover, because even when he's blanketed, he's still open.

Collins' biggest future contribution may be as a kick and punt returner, but right now he's focused on adding weight and good muscle. He's much stronger than his frame would suggest, and he's put up weight room numbers closer to what you'd see from linebackers and edge rushers than smaller receivers. Collins' ability to make people miss in the open field lends itself well to Shelby's offense and he's a guy the defense always has to have keyed.

Lynch is electric and still young, a guy who still has plenty of room to grow in stature and as a player. He's a bit of a "do-it-all" guy on offense after finishing with over 500 receiving yards and nine touchdowns and adding another two rushing scores on 38 carries. He's a guy you want to manufacture touches for throughout the game because if he has space, he's a threat to take it all the way on any play.
