Defenses knew McClure was getting the ball and still couldn’t stop him. He’s one of the shiftiest guys in the state, and he wasn’t just beating teams deep. He has the ball skills to win on 50-50 balls, despite not being the biggest guy. But the best part of his game is that he’s electric immediately after the catch. That makes him a threat to take anything to the house, whether it’s a screen, slant, hitch, or something else.

I’ve seen Ryder up close, and he’s one of the best receivers in the state, hands down. The thing I love about him is that he runs a wide variety of routes for a high school offense, and the execution is really impressive. Ryder’s footwork and technical ability on his routes are impressive. Ryder can also make some plays in the quick screen game, using his speed and agility to make defenders miss in the open field. I think Ryder fits as a good slot receiver on the next level for a school; he will just need to be patient going through the recruiting process.

An all-state selection with over 1,100 yards as a junior, McClure is a two-way star for 4A Bandys. He tied for fourth in the state with 18 receiving touchdowns behind two Power Four signees and another guy with multiple FBS offers. McClure is elusive with the ball in his hands and one of the best in the state with the ball in the air. His first step after the catch is electric and routinely makes defenders look silly.

McClure had our biggest jump of any receiver in the rankings, moving up 34 spots to his position at 125. He had a strong CFI Showcase showing, impressing my colleague Matt Morrow, and it’s easy to see why in his film. A two-way player, McClure’s ball skills and strong hands stand out, and he has multiple 50-50 ball wins down the field, plays that have a huge impact on the game.

I thought Ryder had a strong showcase overall. I enjoyed watching Ryder run a variety of routes and find success during the 1 on 1 portion of the showcase. Ryder showed some strong hands and made some impressive catches overall. Ryder can also play defensive back, and going into his junior year will be an important overall player for the Trojans.
