3A/4A QBs To Know

As we approach the season, realignment is at the top of my mind. For the first time, North Carolina is going to an 8A system, which will further stratify the schools. So, over the next couple of months, I'm going through classifications to highlight the players fans will need to know.   Here are the 3A/4A quarterbacks. Don't let the size of their schools fool you, these guys can play.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A/4A QBs</h2>    A multi-year starter, Flynn is one of the more consistent quarterbacks in the state. Flynn has thrown 46 touchdowns and made all-conference each of the last two seasons. Flynn is decisive, quickly going through his progressions and delivering with accuracy and zip on the ball. He keeps improving every year, so I'm excited to see his potential as a senior.     A true dual-threat quarterback, Davis had 26 passing and 14 rushing touchdowns as a junior. He generates easy power on his throws and can push the ball down the field with little effort. He contributed on defense last year as well, picking off a pass and his 4.6 speed really translates on film.     Oates goes to the same high school attended by multiple high-level pro athletes and he still may go down as the best athlete in the history of the school. He's a four-sport star whose future isn't likely at quarterback (it's at linebacker) but he's still a force behind center. He's thrown for 73 touchdowns and over 6,000 yards, adding another 1,000 yards and 12 scores on the ground. I'm excited to watch him close out his high school career this fall.     Kirkpatrick is an impressive-looking quarterback with an excellent arm. He gets easy velocity on his throws and has athleticism that seems to sometimes go unnoticed. He's a gunslinger with a career touchdown rate of over 20%, a testament to his willingness to push the ball down the field and take smart risks.     Another multi-sport athlete, Ward's upside is tremendous. He'll be looking for a step forward as a junior after he seemed to take a slight step back as a sophomore for Hendersonville. He has some athleticism and the ability to break off big runs, but he's at his best as a pure dropback passer, someone who can dice up a defense.    Who did we miss?
