2028 Rankings Update- Who Are Alabama's Top RBs?

With our new 2028 Rankings Update dropping today, we're taking a look at some of the top RBs in the state!   These prospects are seriously talented and set up to have huge sophomore seasons this fall, so we're diving in and seeing what's what.   As always, make sure to watch their film below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1621009' first='Nehemiah' last='McCary'] is our #1 RB and #10 overall prospect in the state after his performance last fall.   “At 6'3 200, McCary has great size, contact balance, and breakaway speed in the open field that helps him consistently create explosive plays on the ground. With his size, McCary is a hard guy to tackle. He's great at lowering his shoulder and trucking through defenders and has contact balance he uses to always stay on his feet.   One of the things that makes McCary especially dangerous on the ground is his elusiveness- he can straight up run through your face, but can also make you miss with how quick he is on his feet. McCary has even made plays on defense; he's an athletic player with tons of potential wherever he lines up.“   McCary put together a huge season for Maplesville last fall, recording 179 carries for 1092 yards and 13 TDs and 11 receptions for 80 yards and one TD through the air.   Since our last update, McCary has picked up offers from Alabama, Georgia, Troy, and plenty of others.   Make sure you check out some of McCary's film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1642536' first='CJ' last='Davis'] is an explosive RB out of Hewitt-Trussville who's now our #2 RB and #12 prospect in the state.   "Although he's lined up and produced pretty much everywhere, I am floored by Davis' talent as an RB. He has great vision, plays with a ton of speed and physicality, and has terrific contact balance that allows him to take on multiple defenders and still come up with huge plays. Davis is dominant in the open field; he easily makes defenders miss and has breakaway speed he uses to outrun entire defenses, and we haven't even touched on his skills out wide.   I'm incredibly impressed with Davis' route running and hands- he finds ways to gain separation all over the field, and can already haul in some highlight-worthy catches through coverage and contact as just a freshman."   Davis produced in a ton of big ways for Hewitt-Trussville last season, ending his freshman year with 60 carries for 327 yards and 7 TDs on the ground and 15 receptions for 230 yards in the air as well.   Davis has picked up offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn, and plenty of other top-tier programs.   Make sure you watch some of Davis's film below, he's got some serious talent:      [player_tooltip player_id='1664762' first='MJ' last='Berry'] is now our #3 RB and #13 overall prospect in the state after we watched him earlier this offseason.   "At 6'2 180, Berry already has the size and athleticism to make explosive plays as a freshman. He's quick on his feet, has good vision, and has impressive speed and acceleration he uses to quickly turn upfield for big gains.   I'm really impressed with Berry's physicality- he has great contact balance and consistently requires multiple defenders to bring him down in the open field."   A little while back, Berry picked up his first offer from Ole Miss! It won't be surprising to see him pick more soon; he has a bright future ahead of him at Andalusia.   Check out some of Berry's film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1624742' first='Urijah' last='Casey'] is our #4 RB and #20 overall prospect in the state after his breakout season at Gardendale last fall.   “Casey is a massive threat with the ball in his hand – he has great vision, quick feet, and tons of speed and twitch he uses to embarrass defenses. Casey is patient behind the line of scrimmage, finds the optimal lane, and takes off for huge gains. Once he's in the open field, Casey is highly elusive and can easily change his direction to make defenders miss, maximizing every carry.   Casey also has terrific contact balance- he can withstand hits and requires multiple defenders to bring him down, wearing down defenses throughout games."   Casey had a terrific freshman season, ending the year with 163 carries for 871 yards and 8 TDs on the ground with 13 receptions for 75 yards and 2 TDs through the air.   Earlier this offseason, Carey picked up his first offer from Jackson State! With his talent, Casey is sure to pick up more here soon- we'll have to keep watch.   Make sure you watch some of Casey's film below, he's set for a big career at Thompson:      [player_tooltip player_id='1035273' first='Jacobi' last='Harris'] is an up-and-coming RB out of Hillcrest who's now our #5 RB and #25 overall prospect in the state.    “Harris is electric with the ball in his hands- he plays with a ton of speed, twitch, and quickness he uses to come up with some seriously impressive plays on the ground, consistently outrunning entire defenses. Harris has a quick burst out of the backfield, great vision, and does an excellent job following his blockers to maximize each carry. Harris is an explosive threat every carry, but especially on the outside.   Once he turns the corner, good luck stopping him- he has terrific speed in the open field, can make defenders miss, and plays through contact to come up with some massive gains on the outside. Harris is also productive in the passing game-using his hands to create tons of plays out of the backfield off of screens and other shorter routes.“   Harris ended his freshman season with 112 carries for 779 rushing yards and 8 TDs on the ground, and 11 receptions for 95 yards.
