It's an impossible question. We have several QBs with Division 1 offers, most of which are coming from the Catholic League. Another interesting fact is that most of the "best QBs" in this class are very inexperienced. Out of the six D1-offered QBs, most of them have little experience at the Varsity level. Plus, I honestly don't have amazing evaluations for any of the top guys, making my job pretty dang difficult.

So, here are my thoughts on the QBs competing for the #1 spot in the next update. Of course, this is subject to change and this list is in no particular order.

Top Class of 2027 QBs

What I like about Kendall:

Film. Lots of film. Even though Kendall has little Varsity experience, Kendall has a great sophomore season highlight tape. In addition, he has several dozen YouTube videos showcasing what he's done this offseason.

Demonstrated by his extensive tape, Kendall has a smooth throwing motion, with consistent footwork and upper-body movement. His accuracy is also good, but he needs to show me more to call that aspect great.
Plus, it's apparent that Kendall at least has a basic understanding of coverages. Plays like 1:11 show Kendall hit his second read over the middle of the field.
Lastly, the fact that he plays for Belleville and has a high likelihood to play 12+ games this season helps. Games played per season is a little thing, but it still makes an impact.

Question Marks

I do not have verified Height/Weight or testing stats for Kendall, though I don't have testing for any of these QBs. I also need to watch Kendall in person, and he needs to play at least half a season on Varsity before anyone can get a good idea of his skillset.

What I like about Anderson:

Talent. It's apparent that Anderson is a talented Quarterback. Great arm talent, consistent mechanics, and I'm confident he can make every throw. Being a dual-sport athlete with Baseball helps, too. He's also the only QB on this list without a D1 offer, though he hasn't been able to compete in front of college coaches because of Baseball season.

Questions

I just need to get in front of Anderson. On tape, I have some minor nitpicks regarding his mechanics and throwing motion, but I don't see those problems in his offseason training clips. I also don't have verified height and weight- the height aspect being especially important. Of course, I also want to see him play in-season, which I will.

The biggest wildcard of the group. I'm kicking myself for not watching Sam closely at the Toledo camp.

Though Sam's talent is obvious. He's tall, has a live arm, and generally checks a lot of boxes. A UNLV offer in December of 2023, and a Toledo offer last week.

D1 interest is very intriguing, though I need to see more tape- Sam has very little.

(No substancial Tape)

What I like about Jabin:

Verified height and weight, verified 40, a good highlight tape, and flashes at the Varsity level. He has solid athletic traits and instincts that make him an intriguing dual-threat. Jabin's arm is solid, not amazing, but far from below-average. I know he can make any throw. Jabin is a talent that's been on our radar for quite a while, and I'm confident that he'll play up to his ranking this season.

Question Marks

I love that I have verified information on Jabin. Lots of tape and a few in-person looks. Though the biggest question mark is still how he'll perform as Varsity QB1. Love the traits, but I'm still a little wait-and-see with Jabin.

Like all of these QBs, Duke has a live arm, good size, and generally has the tools to possibly be a future D1 quarterback. Duke's tape is solid, but he still has visible flaws from the JV level that he'll need to clean up on Varsity. That said, Duke's tape is up-and-down. Plays like 0:15 and 0:23 showcase his upside, while others show his inexperience.

Much of Duke's potential will be realized with experience. Get comfortable in the pocket, get comfortable making reads against great defenses, and generally get confident against the talent and increased speed of the Varsity level. I do not think Duke can currently walk into a D1 college and fight for playing time, but if he develops well, Duke can absolutely be at that level.

A live arm, Varsity experience, a few in-person evaluations, and a good highlight tape.

James' all-around accuracy is near top of the class. Film and my in-person work prove that. I also greatly appreciate that James is experienced in making quick reads with pressure in his face at the Varsity level. His mechanics can take a hit when pressured. His throw power does, too, but James is still able to be accurate.

There are a few question marks with James. For one, he does play a slightly worse strength of schedule than other QBs on this list. Doesn't matter a ton, but still makes a small difference. Also, testing numbers would be great.
