The Lake Show Mega Camp gave scouts and coaches hundreds of athletes to get an up close look at last Friday in Oshkosh, WI. Athletes from the Classes of 2026-2028 posted outstanding numbers in the combine and went to battle in 1v1 reps. It was a stage set for kids to dominate and kick off their recruitment. We have already seen a lot of offers go out to athletes in attendance and plenty more are sure to follow. Let's talk about some athletes who are on the rise following their performance.

One of my favorite athletes that I have come across this offseason is Whitnall WR [player_tooltip player_id='1662918' first='Max' last='Palmtag']. The '26 playmaker is coming off a strong season and is now in the midst of an impressive offseason. At the Oshkosh camp we saw the 6'1" 190 lbs athlete run a blazing 4.47 40, vertical jump 33.6", and run a 4.26 shuttle. All great numbers for a bigger target out wide. Max is a go-to, possession WR. He can win in a variety of ways, providing his QB with a reliable place to go on every snap. Max clearly has the speed and the short area burst/agility to make plays downfield. The incoming senior also proved on tape and at camp that he is also strong at the catch. He will go up and take it away or box out a DB to protect the ball. Max can do a bit of everything all while having a really good build for the position. He only holds one offer so far. Don't miss out on the playmaker.

Another exciting playmaker out wide is [player_tooltip player_id='948107' first='Zach' last='Shipman'] of Eau Claire North. Zach was able to start things off with a good combine running a 4.72 40 and a 4.33 shuttle time, but it was more of what we saw during the actual 1v1 reps that solidified Zach's next level capabilities. When things got real it seemed like Shipman played even faster than he was timed. His short area burst to create space quickly caught my eyes a couple times. I was also super impressed by how physical he was as he fought through some aggressive DBs to still get his hands on the ball and secure the catch. Zach is a versatile athlete and it was great to see him turn his day into an offer from UW- Oshkosh.

An athlete who has made a big leap is Oshkosh West TE [player_tooltip player_id='1610157' first='Joey' last='Ware']. The big athlete looks so much more comfortable than he did months ago. He was able to change pad level, change direction, accelerate quickly, and also showed some long speed in the open field. Looking at the combine numbers, the 6'3" 222 lbs TE ran a fantastic 4.56 40, triple jumped 30'2", and hit a 33.8" vertical. The big target understood how to use that size to box out opponents to protect the ball and create space. He also showed that he could battle through DBs trying to get physical at the line. It was a great display of Joey's well rounded skillset.

Brady was apart of the group that was the most hyped up for the combine. Their group was buzzing with encouragement and competition. For good reason too as Brady was able to put up a ton of top numbers on the day. He had the 2nd best L-Drill going 6.80 seconds, 12th best triple jump at 30', 5th best vertical at 36.2", 3rd best 40 at 4.43, and the 11th best shuttle with a time of 4.25 seconds. However you want to look at it the incoming senior RB is explosively powerful. Out of a cut/juke, or when he sticks his foot in the dirt to get uphill Brady is able to get to top speed so quickly. His decisive running makes him even more dangerous as there is such little wasted time and energy in his reps. The explosive back is set for a massive Fall season, but before that he will continue to put up great numbers and reps in 1v1s.

The 5'10" 160 lbs WR out of SJCA is a football player. Don't get me wrong, the incoming senior posted good numbers like his 4.78 40, 30.4" vertical, and 4.51 shuttle. But Dominic was so much more impressive when we got the football involved in the day. Dominic is a skilled route runner. He is an athlete that has excellent balance so that he can rip through route breaks without giving up much if any speed. What little bit he loses he quickly gains back with his explosive acceleration. The incoming senior is so shifty and explosive out of breaks and it resulted in plenty of reps where I was checking my roster to see who it was getting open so quickly. Rinaldi is a weapon.

Teams looking for a big-bodied WR/TE hybrid target need to check out [player_tooltip player_id='1362763' first='Jack' last='McDonald']. The 6'2" 200 lbs incoming senior is a mismatch out wide. His big frame is able to go get the ball off the top shelf over DBs and he has the strength to secure the catch in traffic or rip it away from DBs. He is a kid that can thrive in the redzone with fade routes/jump balls. The '26 understands how to use his frame to his advantage to make plays for his QB. Don't overlook the Madison West standout. He would be an intriguing piece for a receiving corps.

Chase was another athlete who brought the juice during the combine portion of the day. That energy propelled him to a display of ability and numbers. Checking in at 5'10" 190 lbs, the incoming senior looked the part of a heavy workload back. He ran 4.75 in the 40, hit 34.1" on the vertical, and ran a 4.33 shuttle. Since our last update Chase has put on a lot of size to his frame, getting it ready for the wear and tear of the season. Most importantly he is now proving that he is still an explosive athlete at that size. No doubt we will be seeing him climb up our rankings. The '26 is still quick and nimble on his feet too, as we saw during positional drills through the bags. Chase definitely put himself on our radar.

What a day for Shaundel at the Lake Show Mega Camp. He was an athlete I talked to several coaches about, impressing each of them. He even left with his newest offer from Washburn Football. The 6'2" 175 lbs athlete was special to watch as a route runner. Despite the longer frame, Shaundel was able to get in and out of breaks so easily and accelerate back to top speed. Over and over I watched him open up huge cushions of space from DBs that were initially trying to press him at the line. His ability to be strong through the press and then hit those sudden route breaks was special. On top of it his big frame provided a large catch radius for his QB. When you are talking about mismatches, Shaundel has to be near the top of the list. Looking at his combine to further verify his dominance, Shaundel ran a 4.59 40, jumped 33'4" in the triple broad, and had a 7.13 L-Drill that again highlighted his quick feet and balance to make those quick, tight changes of direction. No doubt this is one of the top playmakers in the state.
