A long and lean athlete who can play TE or DE/Edge. Tested really well this summer with multiple standout performances. Smooth athlete in space at TE and on the edge. Effective first step off the snap. Slippery and agile to defeat OTs on the edge and a good closing burst to the football on defense.

Joey is a menace on the field, dominating at both TE and DE. Defense is where he looks most natural with his long, lean frame that is ready to continue to fill out while maintaining his burst, range, and flexibility. Those athletic traits pair with his length so well as he rushes the edge, keeps separation, and then explodes to the ball when he gets the edge on the OT. Joey does a great job playing with his hands and getting OTs off balance. Once he gets them off balance it’s a done deal. Check the senior out.

An athlete who has made a big leap is Oshkosh West TE Joey Ware Joey Ware 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE/DL Oshkosh West | 2026 State WI . The big athlete looks so much more comfortable than he did months ago. He was able to change pad level, change direction, accelerate quickly, and also showed some long speed in the open field. Looking at the combine numbers, the 6’3″ 222 lbs TE ran a fantastic 4.56 40, triple jumped 30’2″, and hit a 33.8″ vertical. The big target understood how to use that size to box out opponents to protect the ball and create space. He also showed that he could battle through DBs trying to get physical at the line. It was a great display of Joey’s well rounded skillset.
