Evans flashed as a freshman, catching 11 passes for 154 yards, with a great touchdown rate, scoring four times. He's a guy who is starting to get some recognition, especially after earning a Charlotte offer this spring. We expect him to take another step forward as a sophomore and we're expecting big things from the H-Back/tight end hybrid.

Crain put up a huge performance at the Carolinas Coaches' Combine, jumping over 31 inches and posting a sub-5 40. He has great size and is an explosive athlete. He has the ability to play both tight end and edge rusher and we're excited to see how he continues to develop.

Mahaffey led all freshman tight ends last season with 27 catches and 367 yards as a receiver. While he made his biggest impact on the defensive side of the ball (and we have him ranked there) he's going to continue to make an impact on offense as a reliable blocker and receiver. I like his game and think he'll continue to thrive.

Surles plays primary off the edge for Parkwood and didn't record stats as a tight end in 2024, but he has the body and athleticism to make a future impact at the position. There's plenty of projection here, but if Surles doesn't put on the necessary weight to thrive on the edge, I think he could find a strong home at tight end.
