The Lake Show Mega Camp ran by the UW- Oshkosh coaching staff on Titan Stadium was well worth the trip for myself, other PRZ scouts, college coaches, and athletes from across WI and beyond. Hundreds of athletes poured into the stadium for the inaugural camp ready to show off their talents, and the OL/DL were even able to perform in pads. I'm very excited for the future of this camp as it looks to expand, grow, and improve year over year. WI athletes are so lucky to have all these outstanding D3 Mega Camp stages to display their talent, and many made the most of it in Oshkosh. That is exactly who I want to talk about today. The first wave of athletes who caught my eyes at the Lake Show Mega Camp.

My absolute favorite performance of the day was Racine Case's [player_tooltip player_id='1251528' first='Johnny' last='Mathews']. It started with nothing to do with his physical performance. It was how he was leading his group during the combine. Everybody in that group was hyped, cheering for each other, competing. You could feel the excitement within the group and in the middle of it was Mathews. It was a contagious energy that I had to force myself to walk away from because what I really wanted to do was follow them around. The kid clearly loves to compete and show what he can do. You can't convince me there was anywhere else he would rather be.

Then athletically the dude was equally as impressive. He had the fastest L-Drill and triple jump of the entire camp going 6.85 seconds and 33'. He was also 3rd in the vertical with a 37.3" jump. Johnny shined on the field during 1 on 1s as well. He is such a twitchy athlete who has the agility, quick feet, and accerlation to be able to run in his man's hip pocket throughout a route then attack the ball at the high point. Johnny never disappoints and is a big time producer in the fall. More teams need this stud on their radars.

The collection of DB talent that assembled in Oshkosh was impressive to say the least. One of the first that I want to talk about is Nicolet's [player_tooltip player_id='1610294' first='Tyler' last='Griffin']. The '26 checked in at 6'1" 168 lbs, ran a 4.48 40, jumped 31.6" in the vertical, and had a 4.33 shuttle time. That is a great start, showing he has the length for the position, long speed, and short area quickness/agility. Then when we got to the live action part of the day and those abilities translated to the field. On top of the tools to be able to stick tight coverage, Tyler also impressed me with how physical he would play. Even against TEs the '26 was willing to press and fight through to break up passes. I believe Tyler plays safety at Nicolet, so proving he has these type of coverage skills is great to see when breaking down the type of role he could have at the next level. Don't sleep on this kid.

The first kid who caught my eyes during this camp was 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1620602' first='Lucas' last='Neuens']. I started my day at the vertical jump, and Lucas was in the first group to perform. His 36.7" vertical was able to hold on to 4th place overall, along with his 7.09 L-Drill (4th best), and 31' triple jump (7th best) Lucas was able to show that he is an agile and explosive athlete. It was great to see because on tape you can get a sense that Lucas wins with his route running ability. Lourdes Academy utilized him on a ton of short yardage routes and let him create that instant space and then make people miss after the catch. The athleticism matches the tape, and looks like he could be even more explosive in 2025. I'm very excited to watch Lucas continue to make his mark at LA. It was a great day for him, especially knowing that he is coming off a knee injury.

A WR that put together a great showing was Appleton North '26 [player_tooltip player_id='1186177' first='Keegan' last='Muchow']. I know for a fact he had caught the eyes of a coaching staff that I had talked to at the end of the camp. I couldn't have agreed more because every time the incoming senior shows up he puts up great numbers. Numbers like a 33' triple jump (Best overall), 7.12 L-Drill (7th overall), 33" vertical, and a 4.63 40 yard dash.

In the one on one battles Keegan has been an eye catching WR at both camps I have seen him at this summer. He is explosive off the line and out of breaks. He attacks the ball at the high point. Keegan can win vertically or in the quick passing game. It is time for things to heat up for the playmaker because he has verified his strong base of athletic tools multiple times already. Check him out!

The RB who caught my attention most was Dante Matta and he clearly caught the eyes of coaches. Dante was able to earn his first offer from the host team, UW- Oshkosh following his efforts. The 5'7" 170 lbs RB ran double 4.75s in the 40, jumped 33.1" in the vertical, and hit a blazing 4.18 shuttle. It was during the drill work that I got my first glimpse of the incoming senior. Dante isn't the biggest athlete, but he has a thick frame that is stout and explosive. He was light on his feet going through the bag drills and also showed off some natural hands in the receiving drills. Dante is at his best in tight spaces where he can make people miss and find ways to create space with his elusive running. Great to see things picking up for the 2026.

Isaac is continuing his rise and push for the top QB spot in this Class. We have seen him early and often this spring/summer. His combine portion of the day was outstanding. The dual threat QB ran a 4.69 40, hit a 31'2" triple jump, an insane 38" vertical, and a really good 4.32 shuttle time. Even with the great combine, as a QB what we wanted to see was the throwing.

The throwing never disappoints with Isaac. I was able to connect with multiple coaches while watching this position and it was all rave reviews for the DeForest incoming senior. He is the most effortless passer. The ball jumps out of his hand with natural velocity built up from his efficient and smooth mechanics. Even with the new crop of targets his accuracy was really good throughout the day too. No question he was one of the best QBs and overall athletes in attendance.

Another outstanding arm talent in attendance was the 6'3" 205 lbs incoming senior, [player_tooltip player_id='1570957' first='Tanner' last='Effertz']. Tanner was able to stand out from the crowd early and often. First it was with the superior frame that looks like that of a collegiate starter. The pocket passer was another recruit that had a lot of buzz and interest while discussing with the coaches in attendance. Watching the QBs work together quickly allowed Tanner to separate himself. His live arm is able to drive the ball with power to any level of the field when needed. The big man also has great control over his touch when he needs to take some off to hit a window. Effertz works from a really good base. His feet are quick and able to reset and get the ball out quickly. Tanner has the talent to be a high level recruit on the football field and even the baseball diamond.

We wrap up our first installment of standout athletes with my favorite DB from the day. The 5'10" 170 lbs athlete ran 4.49 in the 40, jumped 31.9" in the vertical, ran a 4.38 shuttle, and also put up a 7.19 L-Drill. There was no doubt that we were in store for a good showing from the extremely athletic CB.

I was able to dial in on the DBs during 1 on 1s and Jeremiah quickly stood out with the best of the group. He was so twitchy, able to quickly mirror route breaks. His acceleration kept him tight on his man out of breaks and also closed any gap that may have been opened up. The '26 showed really good timing to attack the ball to break up the pass. He was not afraid to get physical vs WRs either. The '26 CB played with the athleticism and the mental confidence needed to be out on an island. It was a great day for the Martin Luther DB. His stock is definitely on the rise.
