Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1590700' first='Yasir' last='Grixby'] is a player with elite potential after showing out as one of the top receiving options on an exciting Omaha Central offense. In only his freshman campaign, Yasir hauled in 23 receptions for 425 yards and two receiving touchdowns with another score on the ground. Yasir is a super twitchy receiver who can create separation from defenders in coverage and can make them whiff on tackle attempts in the open field. He is very quick getting off the ball, which allows him to get a clean release at the line and can use his stem to set up DBs, making them flip their hips before making a sharp break at the top of the route. Once he has the ball in his hands, Yasir can hit his next gear to accelerate and leave the defense in the dust. Plenty of opportunities to shine this season for Yasir!

Here's the first of a pair of Millard West pass catchers with massive upside! Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1590732' first='Riley' last='Swim'] impressed in his limited varsity role last season, and although he didn't receive many touches, he still stood out in many ways. The main part of his game that stood out was his physicality and technique as a blocker. He works very well as an in-line tight end who can be an asset in the run game, showing that he can climb up to the second level to clear out defenders and has the motor to stay engaged through the whistle. Good use of leverage and hand placement. As a pass catcher, Riley is a big-bodied receiver at 6'3", 205 pounds with sure hands and is tough to bring down in the open field. High ceiling player!

We'll have to wait a little longer to see what Westview's [player_tooltip player_id='1590714' first='Scott' last='Miner II'] can do on the offensive side of the ball, but his defensive talents can not be overlooked! As a freshman, Scott was very productive with 60 total tackles, four TFLs, two sacks, and an interception while playing linebacker. Miner is well-rounded, showing that he is comfortable dropping into coverage, stepping into the box for run support, and even pressuring the quarterback. He displays the ability to quickly change direction and flow with receivers in coverage, utilizing his high football IQ to read quarterbacks and attack the ball. Quick trigger towards the ball with great closing speed to get to the ball carrier in a flash. Offensively, we got to see glimpses of the dual-threat ability Scott brings to the table. He has a strong arm that can push the ball deep and the twitch to zip past defenses when he decides to pull it and run. Look for Scott to carve out a bigger role for himself in 2025!

Big statement season from Dragon's frosh [player_tooltip player_id='1573579' first='Cayson' last='Schlotfeld'] who led the defense in total stops last fall. Cayson ended his freshman campaign with 76 tackles, six TFLs, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. Schlotfeld was brilliant at defending the run last season, whether he was at middle linebacker or defensive tackle, Cayson always found ways to successfully fit the opposing run game and penetrate the backfield to limit big runs. As only a freshman, Cayson was already flashing the instincts and IQ that you like to see from your linebackers, especially with his willingness to talk and communicate with his fellow defenders to call out the offense. He's very patient as he analyzes the play and is very sharp when breaking on the ball. Schlotfeld's wrestling background shines on the gridiron with an excellent understanding of leverage and hand usage to disengage from blocks. Good lateral mobility allows him to cover from sideline to sideline and beat RBs to the edge. Cayson isn't the biggest linebacker on the field, but at 5'9", 220 pounds, he can sure lay some mean hits when he gets to the ball carrier. Watch out for Schlotfeld on the offensive side of the ball, too, where he's as punishing of a fullback as you'll find in the state. Very impressive football mind and skill set at such a young age... going to be a stock riser!

Although I may not have a ton of tape on Millard West's [player_tooltip player_id='1338209' first='Zaylen' last='Rachow'], I saw enough from him at our PRZ showcase to see the type of talent he could become. The Wildcat's receiver has a solid frame at 6'0" and 175 pounds and really impressed with his ability to maximize his catch radius with his lengthy reach to make catches outside of his frame. He has a good burst when turning upfield, which makes him a threat to tack on a big run after the catch. Rachow looks solid in his route running with clean footwork and smooth breaks. Strong hands at the catch point. With Rachow and Swim in the fold, the Wildcats could have one of Class A's elite receiving duos for the next few seasons.
