June 2nd has been circled on my calendar for quite some time. The first of two PJ Fleck Row the Boat Football Camps held at the University of Minnesota popped off late Monday afternoon in Dinkytown, kickstarting the Golden Gophers summer and it's recruiting efforts, and with hundreds of prospects from around the country and with nearly two dozen FCS, DII, DIII, and JUCO programs, including a boatload of staff from NDSU, SDSU, UND, and USD, the camp lived up the hype. PrepRedzoneMN was stoked to be in attendance, and we have your complete and exclusive list of the event's Top Performers from the 2026 rising senior class below. Row the Boat and Ski-U-Mah!

[player_tooltip player_id='1102620' first='Micah' last='Fenney'] (Norwood Young America) EDGE. - I just have to start by saying "holy cow." The Central High School 2026s have certainly been hitting the weight room and Fenney is leading the pack. At a verified 6'4+, Fenney has gained close to 25 pounds of pure muscle since I saw him last summer, and watching him and his fellow Raider Hackbarth walk around before camp and get the heads turning from the Missouri Valley and Northern Sun coaches in attendance was quite the sight to see. Strapped with muscle and with overwhelming length, Fenney put up the single most impressive overall testing performance I've seen from a DE while I've worked with PRZ, numbers I'll be keeping close to the chest this summer. Additionally, Fenney showed he could bend the edge, dip and rip, and redirect well throughout a rep, and he finished the day with a rep of him pulling out a hump move and knocking a massive OT flat on his butt in emphatic fashion to end the night of competition. Gotta like how much of a threat he is at the top of the arc, and at verified eye-popping size, he's got the mobility and athleticism to play off-ball linebacker if needed. No wonder Kansas offered so early. Buy stock now!

[player_tooltip player_id='923833' first='Levi' last='Harris'] (Elk River) CB. - This was finally our first non-padded, in-person exposure to rising track star Harris, who has gone sub-11-seconds in the 100M in 2025, and the Elk River rising senior certainly had a stock rising performance. Head-turner during testing and had the hosting Gophers staff intrigued, and Harris put the verified to good use, showing sticky coverage skills as a corner who was able to stay in-phase and right in the pocket of even the fastest WRs. Had a couple strong PBUs during testing, and I also saw him absolutely break a kid's ankles during a "track the hip" 1v1 drill in space versus DBs and LBs.

Sema'j Young (Robbinsdale Cooper) WR. - Back-to-back years with shutdown 1v1 performances at the RTB PJ Fleck Minnesota Gophers Prospect Camp. Young brought the juice, to say the least, opening 1v1s by breaking the ankles of one of the best 2027 prospects in attendance, and he followed it up with a win against arguable the best CB in attendance on a hard-earned slant as well. Young was twitchy and a natural at creating separation in his releases and at the top of the route. He was nearly untouchable all day and earned impressive 1v1 wins on a variety of routes as well, showing off top-end speed and the ability to track the deep ball as well. You don't want to see this kid on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='402807' first='Brandon' last='Walton'] (Kenosha Bradford, WI) CB. - Absurdly long and an overall physical eye-catcher, Walton, who came into the camp with North Dakota State, Central Michigan, and Kent State offers, was one of the most athletic players in attendance and put it to good use during 1v1s, drills, and of course, testing. His stick-and-plant burst and ability was sudden and impressive, and Walton made a beautiful PBU on a deep 50/50 fade ball where he showed off top-end speed to stay right in the hip pocket of the stud WR, perfect eye-discipline to get his head around only when he was in perfect position, and making a great play on the ball from an awkward position to highlight his length and body control. One of the biggest sleepers in the Midwest.

Brayden Hoben (Grand View Christian, IA) TE. - Coming up north from the Hawkeye State, big-bodied Hoben sure struck pay dirt, earning NDSU and SDSU offers after the PJ Fleck RTB Minnesota Gophers Prospect Camp last night. Working out of the slot, Hoben was nasty at the top of the route, and did a good job of creating separation and winning 1v1 reps against talented SAFs throughout the night of competition. Lots of room to fill in on his long, 215 lb. frame and is a good athlete to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='284019' first='Gavin' last='Walden'] (Eden Prairie) DT. - One of the most popular Minnesota prospects on the recruiting trail this offseason, Walden asserted himself as a top performer amongst the OL/DL groups and was one of the most consistent winners during padded 1v1s as well. Walden won with his twitch, get off, brute strength manifested in his bull rush, and some loose hips that he was able to unlock when working the hands of an opponent. Additionally, in the spirit of what the Gophers coaching staff is looking for in a potential prospect live during a workout, Walden had a nonstop motor, not just during a rep, but also between reps and drills, and great effort and hustle. Whoever lands him is getting one of the highest floors in the state and a beast in the trenches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120508' first='Ajibola' last='Afuye'] (Stillwater) DE/DT. - Fresh off his first P4 offer from Iowa State after camping with the Cyclones on the 1st, Stillwater product Afuye was the #1 prospect I was most excited to see in Dinkytown. The massive Ponies defensive lineman popped off some explosive numbers during testing and followed it up with some dominant reps during 1v1s, asserting himself as one of the Top Dogs in attendance. Nimble, long, and twitchy, Afuye won with arm-overs, jabs, long arms, and strong initial strikes from the reps I saw, and I also loved how he was able to counter and work off an OL's initial movement and punches. Also got moved inside and took some reps as a 3T and true NG as well. Obviously big and athletic, he had both power and finesse in his game and I can easily see why the Cyclones got involved early.

[player_tooltip player_id='212327' first='Isaac' last='Beaver'] (Kearney, MO) DT. - Representing the Show-Me State, Beaver was a favorite of the coaches in attendance. You'll notice I will sometimes bring up I believe the Gophers coaching staff is looking for in these in-person showings from prospects, which to summarize is generally consistent astuteness, absolute hustle, locked in competitiveness, and of course, coachability. The kids who have received offers at these camps are working their absolute tails off, never taking a moment, let alone a rep off, and showing to the staff that this is important to the prospect through their physical attentiveness and effort. Beaver embodied every bit of this, earning a shoutout from Head Coach PJ Fleck to close out the OL/DL portion of the Minnesota Gopher's Prospect Camp, and it was every bit earned. Beaver's also quite the athlete, popping off some impressive athletic numbers as a true defensive tackle, and he was dominant at the point of attack while showing off a diverse array of pass rush moves that included a spin move, second moves and counters, effective hand usage, and for his last rep, a MONSTER bull rush that had the OC sliding backwards like he was on skates. NDSU offered after his performance as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255885' first='Matthew' last='Perusse'] (Maple Grove) OL. - One of the top OL performances, and overall performances regardless of position, came out of well-known Maple Grove OT and projected iOL [player_tooltip player_id='1255885' first='Matthew' last='Perusse']. Playing LT in the big dog group of the padded OL/DL 1v1 session, Perusse was dominant in pass pro, showing excellent technique in his set, which allowed him to gain depth without getting out of control, before naturally dropping his hips and dropping his anchor to stonewall rushers in their tracks. Perusse always timed his punch out well and showed some lead in his hands, and his length helped him stay in control of a rusher once he got hands on as well. Athletic, strong, comfortable in pass pro, Perusse has tons of upside and is a player I'm bullish on finding success at the next level, no matter where he ends up.

[player_tooltip player_id='743262' first='Jack' last='Morrissette'] (Alexandria) DL. - This felt like the coming out party for Alexandria's [player_tooltip player_id='743262' first='Jack' last='Morrissette']. In front of nearly half the Missouri Valley, Morrissette was quite the eye catcher physically, passing the eye test with flying colors, and he was much bendier and twitchier than I expected in person. Firing out of his stance with good pad level, Morrissette won laterally, showing off a good jab step and some twitchy feet/hips during 1v1s, and he was one of the most explosive DL off the snap in attendance, with a great initial punch to boot. I'd expect some offers coming in for the Alex product here shortly.

Honorable Mentions

[player_tooltip player_id='1255909' first='Nathan' last='Ramler'] (Chanhassen) QB. - Massive, can't-miss gunslinger who PRzMN finally got to see in person in Dinkytown last night. Ramler could generate some serious zip on the rock thanks to his powerful lower body, and the ball came out of his hand with both ease and power. The Chanhassen product proved he could stretch the ball to all three levels of the field with accuracy in the camp setting last afternoon and night in Dinkytown.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255132' first='Jay' last='Sanders'] (Minneapolis North) WR. - Another wideout who is an eye-catcher in 1v1 settings, Sanders elected not to run the 40, which I think was a mistake, as he went 4.6 at our Showcase in April and possesses D1 athleticism from the WR position. Sanders showed top-end speed, a nuanced route running game, and his signature ball kills during 1v1s, where he was one of the top dogs and took a majority of the routes. Earned UMD and UWRF offers for his efforts last night.

[player_tooltip player_id='700015' first='AJ' last='Seymour'] (Brookfield Central, WI) LB. - A Wisconsinite who'd want coming off the bus first, Seymour had a good showing at all three phases of the camp. A strong, now-verified, athlete, Seymour put them to good use during 1v1s, proving himself to be one of the best coverage linebackers in attendance and getting his fellow LBs and the coaching staffs in attendance fired up with a smooth, well-timed INT during 1v1s.

[player_tooltip player_id='1689273' first='Imanol' last='Borges'] (Bloomington Kennedy) DL. - A brand new name to the 2026 scene who you're going to want to know. My old freshman coach at Southwest is now the Head Coach at Kennedy, and he put me on to Borges before the camp. If I remember correctly, Borges has recently moved from Venezuela and is an athletic freak. 6'1, 230 (now verified), 415 lb. squat, and some very strong testing numbers from the Minnesota Gopher's Prospect Camp. Get to know him now!

[player_tooltip player_id='1629192' first='Danny' last='Sather'] (Farmington) SAF. - I smell a stock riser! After going 10.9 in the 100M this spring with Farmington, Sather has been really building some momentum on the recruiting trail as we head into the Dog Days of Summer. Sather was a very strong tester whose size and length are an easy eye-catcher when scanning large groups of prospects, and he looked good during drills, possessing loose hips, quick, smooth footwork, good ball skills and body control, and a ton of athletic upside. Wish I got to watch him more during 1v1s but we'll be keeping our eyes out for Sather the rest of the month on the summer camp circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602715' first='Taylor' last='Hackbarth'] (Norwood Young America) DE. - My oh my have the Central High School 2026s been hitting the weight room hard this offseason! Hackbarth has added some serious muscle since I saw him last summer, as well as an inch of height, and he's looked like a D1-worthy pass-rusher yesterday in the limited reps I saw of him in Dinkytown. Now 6'3, 230, Hackbarth's balance, twitch, and burst all caught my eye in 1v1 settings yesterday in Minneapolis. Talk about a stock riser!

Cortez Berry (Roseville) DL. - Berry has put the Minnesota high school Twitter space on fire thanks to his recent lifts form the spring, which are frankly freaky. Berry followed it up by showing that he has some juice on the gridiron too, putting up some very impressive athletic numbers as a 5'11, 260 lb. DT. I smell some scholarship $ coming this kid's way!
