An underrated linebacker in the 2026 class that colleges need to know is Nicholas County's [player_tooltip player_id='1139399' first='Devin' last='Nash']. He's been one of, if not the most productive, linebackers in the state the past two years statistically and is deserving of D2 offers heading into his senior year. Nash is at his best in pads as a downhill middle linebacker who's a tackle machine, but looked athletic during the testing portion of Fairmont State's Elite Camp. He ran a 4.87 40, 106 broad jump, and a 4.41 shuttle, which were great numbers for Nash on top of his well-developed physique. Length may cause concern for some colleges, but you can't overlook Nash's production and style of play at the position.

Another underrated linebacker in the 2026 class who can offer a lot of value is Spring Mills' [player_tooltip player_id='894976' first='Devin' last='King']. Similar to Nash, King lacks length but is developed well physically with quality athleticism as well. We recently saw him the week prior at the GC Exposure Camp, where he had a solid showing, and the same was true at the Fairmont State Elite Camp. King is a work in progress as a coverage linebacker, but he'll win his fair share of reps in 1-on-1s. He's worthy of D2 looks heading into his senior year.

2026 Keyser LB [player_tooltip player_id='1139378' first='Grayson' last='Lambka'] is someone we are likely too low on in our rankings and is in line for a bump in the next update later this summer. He still has some growing to do physically to fill out his frame, but Lambka proved he has the athleticism to play at the D2 level. He ran a 4.81 40 along with a 104.75 broad jump, and a 4.5 shuttle time at Fairmont State's Elite Camp. We didn't get to see Lambka during 1-on-1s, but he's proven on Friday nights to be a formidable player on both sides of the ball.

One of the best linebackers in the 2027 class is Bridgeport's [player_tooltip player_id='1154891' first='Gabe' last='Martin'], who we've liked since his freshman team film two years ago. He's always had the instincts and football I.Q. for the position to develop into a very good player, which you saw last season on the varsity team as a sophomore. Athletically, Martin was impressive with a 4.75 40, 118 broad jump, and two sub-4-second shuttle times. That athleticism translated well during 1-on-1s with several winning reps as arguably the top LB performer of the day. He'll see a nice jump in our upcoming rankings update after getting to see him in person for the first time.

The rare California prospect in 2026 Palisades Charter ATH/LB Nicolai Townsley made his way to Fairmont State this past Saturday to compete at their Elite Camp and flashed some quality athleticism and play. He proved said athleticism during the testing period of the camp with a 4.75 40, 108 broad jump, and a 4.46 shuttle time. Townsley can play all over the field on both sides of the ball, but linebacker or safety feels like his best position at the next level. He looked good on the offensive side of the ball, too, as a pass catcher at running back and had winning reps at both RB and LB during 1-on-1s.

A prospect on our 2027 Watch List who flashed potential at Fairmont State's Elite camp was Oak Hill LB [player_tooltip player_id='1659048' first='Cade' last='Compton']. He has the quality size and athleticism to utilize that could be developed into a future D2 player by his senior year. Compton is a work in progress in pass coverage, which is the case with most linebackers, and a very difficult position to play in camp settings. His testing times of a 4.88 40, 103 broad jump, and a 4.53 shuttle prove he has the athleticism to improve and develop in that area if he continues to work at it.
