In the month of June, we always give our rankings a fresh update and add more players to each class. We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. In case you missed it, we released the 2028 Top 50 earlier this week. These prospects just finished up their freshman seasons and there are quite a few that have already made names for themselves. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the defensive line position. We're still waiting for more guys to have that break out moment but these four prospects are already on our radar and we're looking forward to seeing how they continue to develop moving forward. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2028 prospect breakdowns and more ranking updates each week!

The first of a handful of athletes that double as tight ends and defensive linemen. Bethany's [player_tooltip player_id='1689513' first='Breck' last='Brady'] has been a prospect we've known about for about six months now but he's still somewhat of an unknown for us. Everything we know about Brady is based off what we've seen on film. We're looking forward to seeing him go to work in person but there are a lot of things to like about him and his overall ceiling as a prospect based on the film that we've watched. For starters, he's an incredibly athletic kid. He doesn't look like a prospect that is going into his sophomore season. Brady also has some very athletic DNA running through him so we're definitely going to learn more about him moving forward.

Stillwater's [player_tooltip player_id='1166475' first='Chandler' last='Johnson'] could end up going to work on either side of the ball and we think that he'll be successful. We've seen Johnson in person with the pads on as well as in showcase camp and 7v7 tournament settings. We've seen him play a multitude of positions. Last month, we mainly watched him go to work at tight end. So while we have Johnson listed as a defensive lineman right now, that doesn't mean anything. This young Stillwater standout is a football player and is going to be able to impact the game in a variety of ways. And speaking of athletic DNA, Johnson is another example of that. He could be primed for a breakout 2025 season this fall.

Blanchard is going to have a first year head coach but you shouldn't overlook the Lions. We really like some of the personnel they bring back on the defensive side of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='1232542' first='Christian' last='Young'] is one of the young and up and coming players that Blanchard will need as they enter a new era of Lion football. We got a chance to watch Young go to work at the Noble team camp in late May and he impressed. Up to that point, everything we've seen of his game was on film. But this gave us a chance to be 15-20 yards away from him going to work on the line of scrimmage and he's incredibly disruptive. It also looks like his bag of tricks to get by offensive linemen is deep.

Our final prospect on this breakdown is Ada's [player_tooltip player_id='655275' first='Nate' last='Boeck'] and he's one of the more unique prospects in this class. When he was in middle school, Boeck looked like a guy that could stand out on either side of the line of scrimmage. Whether it was as a tight end or a defensive end, Boeck looked like he had the tools to be someone to know. Boeck would then reclassify and went from being in the 2027 class to 2028 class so there's still so much unknown in his game. We haven't seen him in person in a while and while there is still a lot of potential here. There's also a lot of unknown. So we're looking forward to catching him in person and having a better evaluation.
