Yukon athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1330007' first='Daniel' last='Yebit'] is the highest ranked newcomer to the state's 2027 rankings and ironically, he's the only prospect on this breakdown that we haven't seen in person. Everything we know about Yebit from an evaluation standpoint comes from film and seeing some unbelievable track results. Yukon is no stranger to producing outstanding athletic freaks that start making noise in track and eventually find opportunities in other sports. Yebit appears to be the next guy in that department. This spring, he got on the radar of several D1 coaches and the offers started to roll in. Now, there are a handful of prospects in the state's 2027 class that we have very high on our list to see in person at some point this fall. Yebit is definitely one of them. We're looking forward to seeing all that natural athleticism on the football field.

Carl Albert has to replace some serious star power and overall production on the defensive side of the ball and they might have found an answer at least at the linebacker position. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1680079' first='Beau' last='Davis'] started to emerge this offseason based on his film and measurables as a guy that we needed to know in the 2027 class. Davis already has a handful of D1 offers and then we got a chance to watch him go to work this spring. And he was lining up in that middle linebacker position, occupied by arguably Carl Albert's best defender in school history over the last few years. And what's scary for the rest of Class 5A is that Davis absolutely looked the part in that role. So we have him checking in at the linebacker position. But it should be noted here that Davis will also line up at tight end on the offensive side of the ball and could end up being very productive.

Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1664120' first='Josiah' last='Chester'] is a 2027 prospect that is near the very top of our list when it comes to breakout stars to watch this season. Chester had a solid sophomore season but we got a chance to watch him in person twice in May and in both instances, he was absolutely dominant. First, he was one of the very best athletes at our showcase camp in Tulsa. Then, we saw him two weeks later with the pads on and he was winning rep after rep. He consistently gets behind defensive backs and simply has a knack for getting open. And even when he's not open, he has the ability to make the contested catches. Overall, we think 2025 could be a big year for Chester. So when it was time to update the 2027 rankings, the Del City standout was one of the players that we knew would not only be added but debuting at a high spot.

The ceiling is incredibly high for Carl Albert's [player_tooltip player_id='1680084' first='Makauri' last='Johnson'] and it wouldn't be surprising if by the time our next update comes out in October, Johnson is flirting with being in the Top 20 or even Top 10. He has that look to him from a physical standpoint and if he starts to put it all together on the field, he's going to be considered one of the better athlete prospects in this class. This season, Johnson is going to line up at the wide receiver position on offense. He's going to give the Titans a deep ball threat in the passing game. Defensively, Johnson has that nickel/rover body where he can line up at linebacker and hold his own or drop back in coverage and be just fine. Johnson is a player that we were immediately intrigued by when we got a chance to see him in person this spring. And out of the five on this breakdown, his ceiling might be the highest.

Mount St. Mary offensive and defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1680645' first='Malachi' last='Hardiman'] was a another prospect that we got our first chance to see during spring practice and immediately came away impressed. It didn't take long while watching Hardiman to figure out that he belongs among the best of the best on the line of scrimmage. Now, it's going to be interesting to see which side of the line of scrimmage he ends up on. Because we'll be honest, we have him listed as an offensive lineman first here in this breakdown but we could easily see it being flipped. It really didn't matter which side of the line of scrimmage he lines up on, he finds a way to get the job done and he's routinely doing it at a high level. And we've heard that in the last few weeks, Hardiman has been tearing it up on the camp circuit and he has the potential to continue that momentum this fall.
