2025 Kentucky Future Stars – 7th Grade Wide Receiver Selections

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This year's Kentucky Future Stars saw over 400 athletes show up in four different areas around the state, in an effort to be selected for the #Brotherhood of the program. When the smoke settled, there were seven (7) seventh-grade (class of 2030) Wide Receivers selected to the prestigious team. The seventh-grade game against Tennessee has been split over the last four years, which each side of the border war winning two games. This year's KY group will aim to break the recent stalemate. Brings a physical presence and can play Wide Receiver on offense, in addition to Defensive Back and Linebacker on defense. At this point, very undersized - yes, but he is not short on talent. He's a quick-hitter on the outside who uses agility and foot speed to pick up plus yardage. He's a playmaker that can line up as a Running Back or Wide Receiver right now and find immediate success. [player_tooltip player_id='1306170' first='Draedon' last='Littlejohn'] is one of the weapons on the outside who brings considerable size to the position, measuring in at 5-foot-9 and 140-pounds. Littlejohn made the KY Future Stars a year ago as an Edge and was named a Top Performer in the game, but will aim to have an impact on the opposite side of the ball this year. Also like Littlejohn, I expect Maxie to bring some physicality to the Wide Receiver position. He's a bigger target that should get should get a good amount of love inside the red zone. Another plus for the Honorable Mention Regional Player of the Year is that he'll be teamed up with a familiar face, as his fellow Paducah Tornado teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1278296' first='Brody' last='Shannon'] will be playing QB for the Kentucky Future Stars. This past season, Sturgill was one of the main weapons on a Northern Pulaski team that was nothing short of dominant during its run to a 2024 KYMSFA State Championship. Sturgill is an explosive kid who runs extremely crisp routes for his age and level. Walden is a four-sport athlete (football/baseball/basketball/soccer) and this season as a seventh-grader, he helped the Purples win three District Championships. His contributions on the football field aren't just confined to the Wide Receiver position, as I fully expect him to handle kicking duties for the 7th Grade Kentucky Future Stars as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
