Four area high schools from northern West Virginia and Pittsburgh, PA, participated in the 3rd Annual Spring Showcase at the Highlands Sports Complex on Tuesday evening. Host school Linsly welcomed Weir, University, and Westinghouse (PA) to join them in front of college coaches for a spring evaluation, with many prospects standing out. Here are the big man prospects from Linsly in attendance who caught our eye at the Spring Showcase.

A week after a strong showing at our Combine Series camp, 2027 Linsly DL [player_tooltip player_id='1615402' first='Darryn' last='McCormick'] was once again impressive at the Spring Showcase. He had a clear athletic advantage over the fellow WV big men in attendance but also got a great glimpse of further room to grow against Western PA Power Westinghouse and the talented linemen they brought with them. McCormick held his own and won his share of 1-on-1 reps against Westinghouse, with his competitive side coming out during the fiery 1-on-1 period. He has a bright future if he continues to take the next steps in his development, as he's proving that he's putting in the work to do so.

A 2027 prospect from Linsly that I wasn't familiar with before the camp but caught my eye was DL [player_tooltip player_id='1673528' first='Hayden' last='Ward']. He saw reps on both sides of the line, but with his 6'3 210 frame, I see his future as a defensive end prospect where he flashed a lot of upside. During 1-on-1s, Ward was raw but is very quick off the line with power behind his quickness as well. Once he develops his hand use to help in block shed, Ward will develop into a very good DE with he potential to make his name known over the next two seasons.

A young offensive line prospect who impressed me was 2028 OL [player_tooltip player_id='1673535' first='Eliott' last='Wade']. Physically, he's well ahead of the game for most freshman offensive linemen as a strong, powerful young player. Wade will benefit from added length in the future if he's able to continue growing in that regard, but he has an ideal interior frame. Unsure if he started as a freshman last season, but if not, Wade can be a 3-4 year starter at center for the Cadets based on what he showed at the Spring Showcase. His wrestling background was apparent with his hand use, keeping them tight on his man and driving some older opposing linemen backward. If Wade can continue to develop athletically, he'll have the potential to be one of the more notable OL names in this class.

We haven't gotten any updated junior film from 2026 Linsly TE/EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1139386' first='Donavan' last='Jones'] but liked the potential he showed as a sophomore. He's clearly added size since then and filled out his 6'2 frame even more in the 200-pound range. Jones was a productive defensive player for the Cadets last season, posting 39 tackles and giving good reps as a primarily blocking tight end on offense. He's under the radar right now, especially without updated film but has the size and frame to grow into a few different spots on both sides of the ball if he wants to play football in college.

Another young Cadet big man that I thought flashed potential was 2028 OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1673538' first='Andrei' last='Rosado']. He competed well against some talented older linemen in attendance but hung in there and battled for his age. Rosado has a quality frame for his age in the 6'0 220 range and could grow into a prospect on either side of the line. He's expectedly raw fundamentally, and once he further learns the techniques of both positions, Rosado has the upside to make some big leaps in his development by his senior year.

A 2029 prospect to tuck away for later is Linsly OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1673541' first='Donte' last='McCabe'], who flashed potential for his age during the Spring Showcase. He has quality size for an incoming high schooler in the 5'11 230 range and will likely hit some growth spurts in the coming years. McCabe battled some older and bigger linemen in attendance and didn't shy away from competition when he usually could have, as one of the youngest prospects at the camp.
