National Preps Collegiate Showcase: Top QB Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The National Preps Collegiate Showcase was held recently at Archbishop Spalding HS (MD). It was the 16th year of the NP Showcase that consist of some of the top talent in the Mid-Atlantic region putting on a show for over 125+ college coaches from FCS/D2/D3 schools. He posses a live arm and a quick release. Allowing him to get real nice zip/velocity on his short to intermediate passes. Ball comes out of his hand real smooth with a tight spiral. DeLuca also showed off impressive footwork mechanics. Is fluid in the pocket in his movement and able to move &amp; throw on the run with accuracy. A high IQ QB who knows what to do with the ball, Nicholas showed off traits that certainly caught coaches attention. Carrying a thick built frame, he stands tall in the pocket ready to step up and deliver the ball down field. Rory showed off a strong arm with a sound over the top throwing motion. Capable of launching a nice deep ball down the field or zipping in a tight ball across the middle, Rory can make all the throws. Also athletic enough to move in the pocket and extend the play, while throwing well on a roll out. Measuring in at 6'1" 180 with a 8'11 1/2" SBJ, he looked the part physically &amp; athletically. Able to get a lot behind his passes with ease, the ball zooms out of his hand with zip and pace. Micah can launch the ball down the field for a nice deep ball with wonderful trajectory. He whips the ball around the field and has plenty of arm strength to make all the throws. A lefty QB with real nice arm mechanics and smooth footwork. The ball springs out of Ty's hand with nice spin/zip and accuracy. With impressive arm strength for his size, he can push it vertically and has a deep ball that gets up &amp; down smoothly. A nice overall athlete as well, Ty shows impressive pocket awareness &amp; mobility. While also being able to extend the play, run for yards and effectively throw on the run. Ty stood out in 1v1s on the day with his timing and accuracy on his passes. That shows in his game as well as he has a powerful arm and shines in the QB power run game. Jake throws a real nice deep ball, putting it out there and able to drop it in the bucket to the WR. He stands tall and steps up in the pocket striking the ball down the field and to the edges with velocity. The NP Showcase continued that trend. What stands out the most is how pretty the ball comes out of his hand with a smooth, quick compact release. With nice trajectory and pace on all his passes he change speeds to consistently hit the receiver in stride. Strong enough arm to push it vertically 40+ yards down the seam and hit deep corner routes with ease. Tyler is also extremely accurate with his passes. Consistently puts his throws right in the WRs path where only they have a play on the ball. He shows impressive timing and anticipation with his throws. Tyler is also a strong athlete on the field, able to extend the play, scramble for yards and does a nice job of keeping his eyes down field to find the open WR while on the move. Tyler is a high IQ QB who can run a successful offense and is an overall playmaker at the position. A surprise due to him transferring in to Mt. Zion Prep (MD) from Omaha NE, Gow really caught my eye with his performance. A good size player at 6'2" 212lbs, he is well slapped together. Mikey's stand out trait is his big arm. He has a cannon that can launch the ball out there and gets very good zip on the ball. Able to make throws across all 3 levels of the passing game with accuracy and nice timing. Gow can put nice touch on the ball when needed and drop in a bucket, while also being able to let a laser go across the middle or to the sidelines. A nice athlete as well, Mikey can move in the pocket and doesn't go down easily. He can scramble out and either keep the play alive to make a throw down field or pick up chunks of yards with his legs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gow looked the part to me and I don't know how he doesn't have any offers to my knowledge. He is a QB that I feel fits in the play action style offense that allows him to launch the ball down the field while also using his athleticism would be a great fit.
