Film Room Focus: High Upside Bay Area Defenders

<p class="text-gray-700">Murphy is a up and coming edge rusher for Clayton Valley and is one of the better players at his position across the Bay Area. He is a long and twitchy natural bender that can win off the edge with heavy hands, initial twitch and covers a ton of ground quickly when collapsing the pocket. He shows he can quickly get off blocks, redirect down the line and recognize down blocks/pulls quickly with a high IQ and quick processing abilities. Athletically, he checks all the boxes with plus upside due to his length and frame that will only continue packing on weight. He projects as a defensive tackle with tremendous plus length inside, and is a no-brainer high impact player at the next level. He is extremely powerful and strong at the point of attack when re-setting the line and moves extremely well with good short area twitch and lateral movement abilities, especially for his size. Although still technically developing in his young career, it would not be surprising if he ends up with national offers soon as he has the truly rare combination of interior 6'5+ length, especially for only a sophomore. It will not be long until he is a household name across the recruiting rankings. He has elite length and fluid hips in transition, while a smooth operator in the back end with natural ball skills and return abilities. He is a physical corner that can recover if beat, shows eye discipline in coverage while very physical neat the LOS and can come up and help in run support. He is a high motor kid that wins with power rush moves and can counter back inside when needed while showing a strong understanding of play at the line of scrimmage. He is another next level prospect that has been flying under the radar and should be closing in on opportunity soon.
