Community Film Room Episode 5

Welcome back to the Community Film Room, one of my favorite series we do at Prep Redzone. A lot goes into traditional evaluations: Measurements, stats, competition level, etc. Our community film room series attempts to strip some of that away, instead letting the highlight tape speak for itself. No bias or anything like that, just let me know and I'll feature your tape.   In each edition, we'll break down five unranked players from across the state to let you see what we're seeing. The series will lead right into the the start of the spring rankings cycle, the ever-growing importance of the summer program schedules and then the 2025 season.   Here, we have two shift receivers, an impressive offensive lineman, defensive lineman, and one who plays both.    Despite only playing three games for ALA, Blanchard was an asset as a reliable--and shifty--receiver. Playing mostly out of the slot, he displays soft hands and an ability to find holes against zone. If given space, he's tough to bring down, with a full array of moves after the catch, or as a punt returner, as seen at the :30 mark in his film.      Burns is huge and he holds up well at the point of attack. He's at his best when he can two-gap and swallow up blockers to free up his linebackers. But that doesn't mean he didn't have good numbers. His 13 tackles for loss aren't inflated and you can see most of them in his film, mostly as he stonewalls running backs on inside runs. He carries his weight well and we like how he moves.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ExnDowork/status/1889311962137260236 </div></figure>      Parry-Smarra is a two-way receiver and defensive back for North Wake. I like him best as a defensive back, where his instincts and change-of-direction works the best. He makes instinctive breaks on the football and he's physical for his size. A sure tackler, I really like his upside at corner, though I'd love to see him get some run as a gadget guy on offense to take advantage of his speed and athleticism.      Roseboro is undersized for a tackle, but he has an excellent anchor and is a standout pass-blocker. I'm really impressed with his kick step and balance at tackle. If he wants to play at the next level, he'll likely need to add some weight, but the technical aspects of his game are impressive. Some guys can simply play, and Roseboro is one of them.      Ganao is a physical left tackle who loves to finish blocks. He's at his best as a run blocker where his leg-drive and physicality are on full display. He transferred into CE Jordan are playing some for Cardinal Gibbons and his strong junior year should propel him to a great senior season. I think he'll likely slide inside to guard at the next level, but he definitely has college potential.     Want to make sure you're on our radar or raise your stock?
