2027 QB Rankings Preview, Names to Know

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have been previewing our Class of 2027 rankings the last couple months, and we will be posting the 2027 updates soon. Today, I am bringing you some QBs you will see ranked. In two seasons as a starter, he has started 17 games, winning each while posting over 4000 all-purpose yards, 54 TDs, and 7 INTs, while securing 2 State Championships. He has an effortless throwing motion where the ball zips out of his hand on each pass. Phoebus utilizes his deep ball ability on many of his throws where he shows the touch and accuracy needed to place the ball where it needs to be for his WR. He does not shy away from throwing the ball into tight windows to make a big play. He also shows very good athletic ability making him just as dangerous with his feet as he is with his arm. Whether it is evading the rush or a designed run, he displays the speed, agility, and vision needed to extend the play. A smooth delivery with a strong, accurate arm. Poised in the pocket and looks to have confidence in his ability. Where there is not much for us to go on in this year's update, we look forward to his return this fall, and he is someone to watch as a possible stock riser in next year's update. I <strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/08/qbs-to-know-in-virginia-heading-into-the-2024-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">covered Luke in depth</a></strong> before the 2024 season in his QB play, and I stand by what I wrote. The zip on his pass sticks out on all throws across the field, and he shows he can take some off the pass to throw with a good touch. He is also accurate in his throws on top of his arm strength and touch. Beyond that, he can beat you with his legs via his athleticism. He finished the season with 884 all-purpose yards, 3 TDs, and added 59 Tackles on Defense with 1 INT and 1 FF. What I love about his film is his ability to make every throw on the route tree. Standing at a listed 6'4", he has elite height. He shows good balance and flexibility in the pocket through his pass set. He lacks elite arm strength, yet he can make any throw with anticipation and accuracy. As he continues to develop his body, we will see that arm strength develop over the next couple of seasons. While not a dual-threat, he shows he can extend plays inside and outside of the pocket and find the open receiver downfield. Can be utilized in designed run, read option, RPO game that forces the defense to honor his ball-carrying ability. Strong arm to throw the deep ball with solid accuracy on all his throws.
