05/18 PRZ-AR COMBINE PREVIEW: Top Ranked Prospects in Attendance

<p>The Prep Redzone Combine Series is set to take place in Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 18, 2025. This event is a fantastic opportunity for high school football prospects to gain exposure from college coaches and Prep Redzone scouts. Hundreds of college programs will rely on the results to recruit high school prospects from classes 2026-2028 (Some 2029). Here are some (not all) of the top prospects that will be in attendance:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='594778' first='Slade' last='Norwood'] is a prospect we began covering early in his football career, and it's easy to see why we recognized his talent before many others. He was named to our 2024 All-State Sophomore team and highlighted as the top underclassman. He was a standout at our showcase in January. During this period, he received his first offer from Northern Colorado. Slade is considered one of the rising and top prospects in the state of Arkansas.</p>   <p>From a scouting point of view, He can dissect defenses with precision. Norwood displays good footwork in the pocket, maintaining a strong and balanced base as he steps into his throws. His hip torque generates good velocity. He possesses good arm strength and places the ball effectively at all field levels, leading his receivers with solid anticipation. Norwood demonstrates good processing skills for both coverage and blitzes—pre-snap and post-snap—resulting in good decision-making and poise while in the pocket.</p>   <p>Note - 4.0 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/SladeNorwood/status/1922096698521719256 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1549140' first='Brice' last='Owens'] is poised to be a breakout candidate for the upcoming season, both on the field and in recruiting. This off-season, he has been working hard, competing across the nation in 7-on-7 tournaments as he continues to grow and improve as a passer.</p>   <p>He's a dual-threat quarterback with good athletic ability, capable of making plays with his legs. Owens demonstrates good pocket mobility and has the awareness to evade incoming pressure post-snap. As a passer, he displays good velocity on the football with a quick release, allowing him to hit tight windows across the middle of the field. His arm strength and accuracy are impressive at all levels of the field, allowing him to lead his receivers effectively with anticipation and good ball placement. Burnett exhibits solid pocket mobility and poise, keeping his eyes focused downfield while evading pressure. He holds an offer from Arkansas-Monticello.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Accelus demonstrates good post-snap vision and burst through the interior. His lateral quickness and ability to change direction enable him to evade defenders in space or against early penetration, and he quickly takes advantage of cutback lanes. He possesses good contact balance and leg drive to break tackles. As I've mentioned before, his playing style closely resembles that of Tony Pollard, a current NFL running back, during Pollard's high school career. Add him to your recruiting board. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Mitchell displays good post-snap vision, allowing him to read the flow of first-level defenders and identify the hole to burst through. He exhibits good foot speed and burst, enabling him to quickly separate from initial defenders and easily navigate through the second level. His vision, body control, and lateral agility make him an effective multi-cut back who can elude defenders. Additionally, his ability to run north and south with his low center of gravity, maintain good contact balance, and drive his legs helps him finish plays and generate yards after contact. In the receiving game, Mitchell can line up wide or in the slot, excelling in screen and RPO situations, showcasing his versatility. He recently received an offer from Arkansas, and I expect him to receive many more. We will see his explosiveness on Sunday at the combine.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Steen possesses a quick release due to his good acceleration and foot quickness. He is a vertical threat who can attract attention and create opportunities across the field. He runs smooth routes with solid breaks at the stem, allowing him to create separation from defenders due to good change of direction, balance, and burst off his plant. Additionally, his strong hands enable him to compete effectively for the ball.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 4.0 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/SteenJosiah/status/1922047120527282528 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='228033' first='Tayshawn' last='Edwards'], an explosive wide receiver from Warren High School, will be in attendance on Sunday. He's been on multiple P4 and G5 visits as of late, including Texas A&M. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Edwards stands out as a vertical threat, capable of dominating in short to intermediate and stretching the field. His ability to create separation with his good foot speed, acceleration, control, and stop/go skills is impressive, vertical or at his breaks. He is also a threat after the catch due to his burst upfield and contact balance. A fluent route runner, Edwards possesses boundless potential.</p>   <p>Note - 3.3 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TayshawnEdwards/status/1911816695657668869 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1026808' first='Jamir' last='Lee'] is a top wide receiver prospect from Arkansas, having recently received his first offer from the University of Arkansas. He is athletic and explosive, and he is expected to play at the Power 4 level when the time comes. Add him to your recruiting board.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">He has very good length with good foot speed and athleticism out wide. Lee is a fluid and smooth route runner with no wasted motion. At the X or Z, he displays a quick release due to good acceleration and foot quickness, allowing him to eat up space quickly. He showcases the ability to create separation off his breaks due to good change of direction, lateral agility, balance, and burst. Has the ability to high-point the football with good hand-eye coordination, ball-tracking skills, and body control with strong hands and balance to catch vs contest or adjust mid-route.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 4.6 40</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/jam1rlee/status/1899886179144917468 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1557599' first='Carter' last='Sutterfield'] is likely to gain significant attention in recruiting after Sunday, due to his physicality and size alone. The young prospect has solid potential and will be someone to watch at the combine.</p>   <p>In his scouting report, he displays solid initial quickness, enabling him to create inside leverage quickly and drive defenders out of running lanes effectively. Sutterfield showcases good motor and play strength, which is why he consistently pancakes defenders. In pass protection, he possesses good length and a strong anchor, allowing him to control and neutralize opposing pass rushers. </p>   <p>Note – 79″ wingspan</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CarterSutt14741/status/1916596409866019230 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1367381' first='Maddison' last='Heard'] is a prospect I expect to gain attention by the end of 2025. He will be exciting to watch on Sunday as I anticipate he will excel in the trenches.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Heard displays good initial quickness off the snap, maintaining good pad level and hand placement to create leverage and displace defenders. His combination of quickness and power allows him to excel in both base and down blocks, effectively walling off defenders. Additionally, he demonstrates a strong anchor due to good lower body strength, bend, and balance, enabling him to effectively counter and control both bull rushes and speed-to-power rushers.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 3.5 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Maddisonheard78/status/1871282938085830836 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1396655' first='Zane' last='Hathcock'], a young offensive lineman, earned Freshman All-State honors in 2024. I expect him to continue on that path, develop, and earn his stripes this Sunday over the summer and throughout the course of 2025.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Hathcock displays a strong anchor against power and bull rushers in his jump, vertical, and 45 pass sets. His skills include good hand timing, hand strength, and hand placement, complemented by good foot quickness, balance, and core strength, allowing him to anchor and control his opponents. He shows good initial quickness in his pass sets, enabling him to set up quickly and mirror defensive linemen, due to his good lateral agility, footwork, balance, and awareness. He is an effective base blocker who explodes off the LOS with good pad level, hand placement, and foot quickness, allowing him to create leverage over his opponents and effectively drive and displace them.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – Multi-Position Athlete</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ZaneHathcock/status/1912719201573150759 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1227672' first='Bennett' last='Moseley'] is making a name for himself with his performance on the field, off-season development, and strong work ethic. He received camp invitations from Kent State, Texas State, Tulsa, and more.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Moseley displays a good burst off the snap, using his foot quickness, hand placement, and pad level to create leverage and drive the OL back into the backfield. This generates pressure on the quarterback or allows him to make plays against the run at the LOS. He's a high-motor prospect who plays with relentless effort, consistently chasing down ball carriers from sideline to sideline. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 3.2 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/bennettmoseleyy/status/1914454183425560721 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1198671' first='Braceson' last='Mitchell'] is an athletic big man with impressive physicality at the point of attack. He recently visited UT Martin back in April.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">He displays good upfield burst off the snap, enabling him to effectively beat the OL on both the inside and outside by utilizing good foot quickness and bend. Mitchell consistently makes plays in the backfield, showcasing active feet, good hand placement, and pad level to establish leverage. This allows him to drive offensive linemen backward, creating pressure in the pocket and making plays at the LOS. He's a high-motor linebacker who can cover the entire field.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Choate has a quick first step and a good read-and-react ability to attack downhill against the run, utilizing good angles and physicality at the POA. He can evade and shed blocks to make plays to the line of scrimmage. He displays solid change of direction, balance, foot quickness, and football IQ in zone coverage, allowing him to reach the catch point and neutralize underneath routes effectively. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 3.3 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ReaganChoate/status/1908528954731872282 </div></figure>     <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1601653' first='Tylan' last='Florey'] is an exciting linebacker prospect to keep an eye on, and he has the potential to be among the best in his position by the time his career is over. He has the intelligence and work ethic needed to succeed. Recently, he received a camp invitation from Illinois State.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Florey plays with a sideline-to-sideline motor, positioning himself to make plays all over the field. Florey displays solid read-and-react ability, utilizing good footwork and foot quickness to attack downhill and become physical at the point of attack. I expect his athleticism to be on display this Sunday. He recently received an invitation to a camp at Central Arkansas.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">McDaniel plays with a sideline-to-sideline motor, becoming physical at the POA. He has the foot speed and angles to chase down ball carriers and be effective against the run game. As a running back, he displays good post-snap vision and lateral quickness to evade early penetration. He possesses the foot speed to outrun defenders and accelerate upfield effectively.
