Intriguing quarterback class in the 2027 class - one prospect who moved out of state would have been on this list in Keegan Croucher - Cheshire Academy. Croucher would have likely been this class's #1 or #2 overall player. Croucher is currently a top 10 player in all of New England on PrepRedzone.

This group below, outside of a few of the top prospects, really has not separated themselves at all. Their junior seasons will be tremendous in their evaluations, as most of these guys will have the experience to take a significant step in their consistency while improving on positional skillsets and getting bigger/stronger/faster.

Cunningham was the most productive sophomore quarterback in New York last season. He was the only prospect to eclipse the 2,000-yard and 25-TD marks in his first season as a full-time starter.

Cunningham has the best touch and accuracy, especially over the middle of the field in this class. His ability to hit tight windows between zones routinely shows up on tape.

Cunningham is also one of this class's better creators outside the pocket. He is not much of a runner, but his pocket awareness and ability to adjust his arm angle and throw off the platform, not sacrificing accuracy or arm strength, shows up consistently on tape.

Mercorelli transferred from Hudson Catholic to Cardinal Hayes, and although he had big shoes to fill at Hayes, he came to New York with some quality film from his time at Hudson Catholic.

Mercorelli checks the measurables box at 6'3 "200. He shows good poise in the pocket, and his overall arm talent is impressive. He can put some good velocity on his throws in the short and intermediate area of the field. I'm excited to see him against NY competition, and he comes to Hayes as easily as the most impactful transfer in NY into next season.

I don't often go out of my way to find film in unique ways on prospects who don't have any, but Torres is one of those exceptions—one of the top quarterbacks on Long Island last season. I watched two full broadcasted games Plainedge had in addition to all his WRs and RBs that had tape. Torres is also a legitimate baseball prospect. He has great measurables for the position and flashes some solid movement skills.

Torres' best trait is his arm strength; he has undoubtedly the biggest arm in the '27 class in New York. He flashes some elite ball placement at times and excels with his efficiency in the short area of the field. Adding more consistency to his game can jump him into the #1 conversation this class.

Zeh has the most experience as a full-time starter since his freshman season for Moore Catholic, and I saw him play against Curtis this past season.

Zeh is a solid athlete who shows good ball placement and anticipation on his throws when given time in the pocket. He does a good job of resetting his base when forced to extend plays and shows good pocket awareness throughout his tape.

Against Curtis, I was impressed with his poise and toughness in late-game situations.

Hong, who started for Hackley this past year, will be with Archbishop Stepinac next season. Hong has good tape, but I also saw him throw at a PRZ 7v7 event, which gave me a closer look at his arm talent.

Hong shows good ball placement down the field on tape, especially on throws that target the sidelines. His ability to extend plays and hit targets downfield shows up on film and it ties into his overall pocket awareness which stands out. In a 7v7 setting, I thought he consistently got the ball out quickly, hitting that first and second read right as it opened up.

Barnwell is one of the best athletes in this class; he has the speed and change of direction to avoid guys in the pocket and make plays with his legs.

Barnwell shows some nice touch and ball placement as a thrower. I liked a lot of his back pylon targets in the red zone, and he shows on tape that he can throw on the run. Most of his throws are in the sub-40-yard range, so you don't get a true feel for his arm strength, but he shows nice touch and accuracy throughout his tape.

Flaitz fits the mold of a QB who can play at the next level at 6'2 180 - he has good arm strength, and he shows he can put some zip on his short and intermediate throws. He looks like a solid athlete on tape, although you do not see him under pressure too often, so only a handful of throws while moving.

Thought on tape that Flaitz was a good decision-maker. Obviously, you only see the good in highlights, but I thought he looked confident in his reads and consistently delivered the ball in rhythm.
