Well, the 2025 NFL draft has come and gone, and depending on how your favorite team drafted, you're either really happy or scared for the future. We are now in the process of putting every pick under the microscope to discuss how teams hit or missed on their selections. Well, I'm here to bring you a draft with ALL hits, no misses, where every team leaves happy knowing they got an elite player.

Here is my favorite article to write every season: my NFL First Round "Re-Draft," in which I go back and re-do the draft the way I think it would've gone down if the only draftable players were NE 2026 prospects. Check out the first round.

Pick 1: Tennessee Titans

[player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla'] (QB), Millard South - 6'4" 200 lbs - (@JettThomalla)

It was the draft's worst-kept secret that the Titans would pick a quarterback with the top overall pick, and that will be no different here. With the first pick of the 2025 draft, the Titans select Iowa State quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla']. Jett, with great measurables at 6'4" and 200 pounds, instantly provides a spark to one of the worst offenses in the league with his ability to process the game at a high level and a live arm that can make all the throws on the field. Don't overthink it, Jett is a TITAN!

We saw the Jaguars make a splash move by trading up to snag two-way star in Travis Hunter. I think they do something similar here with the selection of Omaha North's [player_tooltip player_id='488174' first='Darion' last='Jones'], who projects best as a CB but was also one of the most dynamic receivers in the state last season (776 yards and 11 TDs). Jones also brings additional value as a dangerous return man who returned four kicks for touchdowns last season (2 PR, 2 KR). The Jaguars are glad to add a shutdown corner to their defense and an electric playmaker opposite of Brian Thomas Jr on offense.

There was a lot of speculation about what the Giants would do with the third overall pick. Will they take the best available player? Will they draft a QB early? Will they find a partner to trade back with? I think with the Browns trading out of #2, they can select their franchise QB with Gretna's [player_tooltip player_id='402158' first='Michael' last='Knudsen'] falling to their lap. Knudsen stepped in nicely as the Dragon's starter last season and ended the year third in passing yards in the state.

The Patriots opted to protect their young franchise QB in the real draft, but I decided to load him up with the top player in the class, Millard South's [player_tooltip player_id='487573' first='Isaac' last='Jensen']. The 6'6", 230-pound tight end provides New England with a versatile playmaker with the size of a typical tight end and the athleticism/receiving prowess to be schemed up across the formation to create mismatches. You also get a physical blocker who can be an asset in the run game. Drake Maye and the offense get a huge boost with their safety blanket target.

The Browns could (should) go QB here, but with a shaky OL, throwing a green rookie to the wolves doesn't make sense. So, I have them address another position of need by picking up the top lineman in the 2026 class, Illinois' tackle [player_tooltip player_id='402157' first='Landen' last='Von Seggern']. Von Seggern is an incredibly sound and smart offensive lineman with a well-rounded skill set. He is a mauler who loves to get after it in the running game and showed great mobility and lateral quickness when in pass protection. Bookend tackle for the next 15 years!

The Raiders went offense in the real draft, but I think Pete Carroll makes a move to rebuild the Legion of Boom in Las Vegas. They select Omaha Westside's [player_tooltip player_id='402141' first='Bryson' last='Williams'] who emerged as one of the top playmakers in the state, recording four defensive touchdowns as a junior. Bryson is a very lengthy (6'7" wingspan) and rangy safety with twitchy instincts in coverage and elite ball-hawking skills, which will be perfect in helping stop divisional passing attacks led by Mahomes, Herbert, and Nix.

I debated between a pass catcher, secondary, or OL here; ultimately, I followed the philosophy of building through the trenches. The Jets add Norfolk Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1617346' first='Leighton' last='Burbach'], who will protect newly acquired QB1 Justin Fields. Burbach is the perfect fit at tackle for the Jets, as he provides a towering presence at 6'8" with elite length and underrated athleticism to help corral speedy edge-rushers. On top of great measurables, Burbach still possesses a lot of untapped potential, giving him as high of a ceiling as you'll find in the class. Big time reinforcements coming to the Big Apple!

As with most top 10 teams, there were quite a few holes I could address, but finding someone to provide consistent pressure at the line of scrimmage would be huge for the Panthers. Picking Millard South's [player_tooltip player_id='1395767' first='Solomon' last='Baker'] will finally give them that edge presence they've been missing since Brian Burns' departure (and really even someone opposite of Burns). Solomon played as a defensive end for the Patriots last season but flashed the athleticism and versatility to play a hybrid role along the defensive front. Baker is explosive when firing off the ball and is very aggressive at the point of attack. Huge boost for the Panthers' defensive front.

The Saints waited to address their QB situation in the second round, but with uncertainty around Derek Carr, I think they should snag Bellevue West's [player_tooltip player_id='487557' first='Will' last='Anderson']. Will gives the Saints an exciting, young passer with a strong arm that can hit all levels of the field and has proven to be a threat on the ground. Great job extending plays and using his legs to buy time for his receivers downfield.
This pick seems a perfect fit all-around. Now, you give Coach Johnson one of the fastest players in the state in Millard South's [player_tooltip player_id='402160' first='Nelsyn' last='Wheeler'], who can ease the load on Caleb Williams in the backfield and will now have a re-tooled OL to run behind. On top of game-breaking speed, Nelsyn also showed elite twitch, excellent contact balance, and great vision. Get him the ball in open space, and you'll see him create magic. Logan has proven to be one of the best disruptors in the state with 65 TFLs and 15 sacks in three seasons (two seasons as a starter, two games played as a freshman). Amarion and Ceedee Lamb immediately form a formidable receiving duo that can work all levels of the field and move the chains at will.
The Seahawks desperately needed help on the offensive line and addressed that need with Wisner-Pilger's [player_tooltip player_id='1394087' first='Regan' last='Raabe']. Regan projects best at guard, which is the top area of need on the OL, but could also slide out to tackle if needed. He has solid size at 6'4", 260 pounds, with length to give him extra reach when extending, and showed nice lateral quickness when stepping into the second level to kick out defenders in the run game. Even with his skill set, it seems like Regan is just starting to scratch the surface.

He doesn't hesitate to go and make a play on the ball himself, showing the physicality and hands to go up and challenge for the ball at the catch point. Gutz does an excellent job exploding off the ball and displays nice twitch that allows him to fly past blockers.
